Aug. 28

There were four vehicle thefts, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Police shot at: At about 12:20 a.m. in the 100 block of Madison Ave. N. in Kent, Federal Way police officers assisted Kent police officers after they advised that an unknown subject on the top floor of an apartment complex was shooting at them.

One wheel stolen: At about 4:20 a.m. in the 33000 block of 1st Place SW, officers responded to a theft in progress. The reporting party stated that two white males removed one wheel from their vehicle and fled with it in a white Subaru hatchback. Officers conducted an area check, but subsequently, all leads were exhausted.

Hammer assault: At about 11:50 a.m. in the 32000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., officers responded to an assault in progress involving a male being struck with a hammer. Upon arrival, a male victim was located with severe lacerations to his head. An investigation initially developed probable cause for assault, but the victim later became uncooperative and was transported to St. Francis Hospital. The case was also closed due to a lack of victim cooperation.

Report of human trafficking: At about 1 p.m. in the 1200 block of SW 331st Street, an adult female reported to a Cle Elum police officer a historical physical assault involving her boyfriend that occurred in their jurisdiction. During this report, the female disclosed that she had been sex trafficked by her parents from birth until age 17, when they resided in Federal Way.

Mutual combat: At about 6:30 p.m. on the 1200 block of S. 336th St., officers responded to a fight in progress between three males. Upon arrival, two of the males were identified through a DOL search as clear and licensed. The investigation did not provide probable cause for assault, and mutual combat between the two parties was determined. Three subjects were involved in the initial report. However, only two males were identified as being in contact. The unidentified male damaged the reporting party’s vehicle. Neither identified party wanted to press charges at the time.

Aug. 29

There were zero vehicle thefts, and three vehicles were recovered on this day.

Aug. 30

There were four vehicle thefts, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Potty on fire: At about 2:50 a.m., a Federal Way police officer observed a fire on the shoulder of Interstate 5. Upon arrival, FWPD officers were able to extinguish the fire. It was determined that the item on fire was a porta-potty. Washington State Patrol and South King Fire took over the investigation. It was unknown who or what started the fire.

Guns and ammunition stolen: At about 1:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of S. Commons, a victim said he parked his car and secured it, but the vehicle was forcibly entered, and two handguns and approximately 250 rounds of ammunition were stolen from within the vehicle by an unidentified suspect.

Assault with a firearm: At about 6:45 p.m. in the 200 block of S. 328th Lane, there was a report of an assault with a firearm.

Aug. 31

There was one vehicle theft, and six vehicles were recovered on this day.

Mutual assault: At about 3:30 a.m. on the 33000 block of 1st Place SW, officers responded to two female friends who had mutually assaulted one another. Both females suffered injuries. The case was legally insufficient.

Fake kidnapping for ransom: At about 12:40 p.m. in the 3000 block of S. 288th St., the reporting party reported by phone that he had received a phone call from someone, and the caller stated that they had the reporting party’s wife hostage and demanded money. Unbeknownst to the caller, the reporting party’s wife was with him at the time. The reporting party promptly hung up the phone and did not comply with the requests. There was no suspect info for the caller other than their phone number. Attempts to call the number were made to no avail. There were no leads as to who the caller was when the report was made.

Sept. 1

There was one vehicle theft, and six vehicles were recovered on this day.

Messing with woman’s window: At about 8:15 p.m. in the 2400 block of S. 273rd Street, officers contacted the reporting party by phone. She reported that she found an unknown male manipulating the window to her apartment and making unusual comments. The male left when confronted.

Printed firearm: At about 10:30 p.m. in the 36000 block of Enchanted Pkwy. S., FWPD officers responded to a call about a suicidal subject near a roadway. Officers contacted the male, who said he had a 3-D printed firearm in his pocket. The unserialized firearm was removed from his person with consent. He had suicidal ideations and was involuntarily committed. Charges to be forwarded to prosecutors for weapon offenses.

Sept. 2

There was one vehicle theft, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Bear-maced: At about 5:30 a.m. in the 27000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., officers responded to Arco because the reporting party stated that two male subjects attempted to steal two coffees and two burritos. The reporting party and a co-worker stopped the male subjects from shoplifting, but they were punched in the chest twice as a result. In defense, the reporting party and the co-worker bear-maced the subjects, who then fled on foot. The male subjects were unable to be determined.

Arson: At about 9:30 a.m. in the 33000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., officers responded to the location for a mattress on fire. The renter of the residence had not checked out and had potentially fled on foot to a responding firefighter. King County arson investigator responded.

Business robbed: At about 8:10 p.m. in the 27000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., officers responded to a robbery with a gun at a business. A male suspect fled on foot and was not located.

Firearm in U-Haul: At about 7:44 p.m. on the 35000 block of Enchanted Pkwy. S., U-Haul called the police, informing them that a firearm had been left in a rental vehicle. The property was collected, a serial number was run, and the firearm was returned as a registered firearm. Attempts to locate and contact the owner were not successful. No crime was established at the time.

Sept. 3

There were three vehicle thefts, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Glock lost: At about 7 a.m. in the 32000 block of 25th Ave. S., the reporting party told officers that his vehicle had been broken into and his Glock 43 had been stolen. He could not provide the serial number, but said he would follow up.

Thousands of dollars of product stolen: At about 11:50 a.m. in the 900 block of S. 336th St., officers responded to an overnight burglary. CCTV video revealed a suspect arrived on a bike, pried open the door, and stole thousands of dollars in hair-dressing equipment. Video footage did not reveal a solid identity.
