Federal Way Police are searching for a suspect wanted for assault following a five-hour SWAT standoff in Federal Way on Monday night.
Police and the Valley SWAT Team responded to an altercation in the 32300 block of 26th Place SW at 5:51 p.m. on Monday.
No one was injured when the 22-year-old male suspect pointed a gun at a 29-year-old man living in the house. The man exited and called 911 to report the incident. The altercation is suspected to have started over property the suspect stored in the garage, said police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock.

Police immediately established a perimeter and called the SWAT team. No other homes in the cul-de-sac were displaced during the standoff. Police tried, unsuccessfully, to call out the suspect, Schrock said.
There is probable cause for the suspect’s arrest on the grounds of second-degree assault and violation of a no contact order with a 22-year-old woman, the sister of the 29-year-old man, Schrock said.
By about 11:30 p.m. SWAT cleared the house room by room and the suspect was not found.
