The Federal Way Police Department (FWPD) is investigating a homicide in the 28100 block of 18th Ave S. According to FWPD, officers were responding to reports of an illegal firearm discharge and discovered the 22-year-old victim, described as a Hispanic male, when they arrived on scene. Medics responded and rendered aid to the victim, who was then transported to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment. According to police, the victim died of his wounds while at the hospital.

According to police, “the scene of the shooting was located east of the victim’s location in the parking lot of the complex.” Additional officers arrived and secured the location where the victim was found and where it’s believed the shooting took place.

Identification of the victim is pending confirmation from the King County Medical Examiner’s office.
