Following several delays, a sentencing hearing for Kirkland resident Alexander Peder is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at the Regional Justice Center in Kent.
In February, Peder pleaded guilty to two counts of vehicular homicide in the June 2010 DUI-related death of Decatur High School seniors Derek King, 18, and Nicholas Hodgins, 18. Peder, who had been drinking, crashed into the students’ vehicle after it stalled on Interstate 5, killing King and Hodgins and injuring another student. The students were set to graduate high school three days later.
Peder faces up to eight and a half years in prison.
