Kathy Luksan, a teacher at Panther Lake Elementary, was recognized as the Star 101.5 “Teacher of the Week” on Nov. 6. Luksan and her students were greeted with goodies from Star 101.5 and Star morning show host Alan Budwill.

Students received bags full of prizes from Sound Credit Union, Dairy Farmers of Washington, Komo 4 and the radio station. Luksan received a personalized plaque from Issaquah Trophy and Awards, and also received a $100 check and $100 Visa gift card from Sound Credit Union. Luksan was also treated with a makeover gift card courtesy of Blanc N’ Schwarz Salon in Kent.

Star’s Teacher of the Week program is aimed at recognizing outstanding teachers, and nominations come from those who know them best: their students. Student Amaya Simmons nominated Luksan, according to a press release from Star 101.5.
