There were at least 8 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
Carjacking: At approximately 2:40 a.m. an officer responded to a carjacking at the 900 block of Southwest 319th Place. The victim stated that they were threatened with a rifle. The vehicle was then towed to AFIS to process.
Robbery: A strong-arm robbery was reported the night prior at the 2700 block of Pacific Highway South. The victim stated items were taken by force, but no weapons were used.
Robbery: An employee at a business on the 31400 block of Pacific Highway South reported that a suspect stole items around 1 p.m. They said the suspect made verbal threats to kill the employee upon being confronted outside of the store, but no weapons were seen.
Sept. 21
There were at least 7 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
Theft after fire: Police received a report via phone that at an unknown time and date, property and clothing were stolen from a duplex that had been previously damaged in a fire. The property was not secure due to the fire damage, which allowed the items to be taken.
Attempted robbery: A victim reported that a suspect attempted to rob their business around 6:45 p.m. at the 29000 block of Military Road South. They stated that they told the suspect no, hit the panic button and called 911. The suspect was gone prior to the officers arriving.
Shoplifting: An adult male suspect was arrested for shoplifting at the Commons mall around 8:30 p.m.
High risk welfare check: After observing a male slumped over in a vehicle around 10 a.m. at the 1800 block of South 308th Street, officers performed a high risk stop due to a visible firearm and drug paraphernalia. The gun was cleared and no actual narcotics were found in the vehicle. The individual was connected with the Recovery Navigator Program of Federal Way to provide resources for rehab.
Shopping cart: A person pushing a shopping cart was stopped around 1 p.m. Upon identifying the person, officers found that she had a warrant. She was issued an infraction for the shopping cart and given a new court date.
Shoplifting: A woman was arrested for shoplifting at the Commons mall.
Personal documents found: A bag full of personal documents including a birth certificate was found in a local park near 33700 42nd Court South. The documents are being held in evidence for safekeeping and police have attempted to contact the person who is listed on the birth certificate.
Sept. 22
There were at least 3 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
Paintball attack: Around midnight at the 35500 block of Pacific Highway South, a reporting party stated that unknown suspects in a vehicle shot at their vehicle with paintballs. The suspects fled the scene before police arrived.
Community action: Officers responded to an unconscious individual at the 330 block of Pacific Highway South where a bystander was attempting CPR. Officers took over and performed CPR, then a bystander provided the officers with Narcan and they administered that to the unconscious person. The person became responsive and was transported to the hospital.
Paintballed cars: A witness observed a suspect in a vehicle shooting paintballs at parked cars around 5 p.m. at the 2400 block of South 273rd Street. A neighbor shared the license plate number of the suspect’s vehicle with the police.
Shoplifting: A shoplifter was arrested at the Commons mall around 6:30 p.m.
Air tag: A vehicle theft is being tracked with updates from an Apple air tag that was placed inside the vehicle by its owner. Location updates are coming in slowly and the vehicle was not located at the most recent air tag location.
Shoplifting: A shoplifter was arrested at the Commons mall around 7:50 p.m.
Sept. 23
There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
Minor struck by vehicle: In a police report filed online, a reporting party stated that her son was riding his bike home and had almost reached the sidewalk near his school when a car hit him. He sustained minor injuries including road rash.
Retail theft: A man stole a cash register drawer from a business on the 160 block of Southwest Campus Drive at around 1:30 a.m.
Nonresidential burglary: Two suspects broke into a food establishment at the 1300 block of South 348th Street around 4:30 a.m., but fled without stealing anything after alarms were activated.
Nonresidential burglary: Officers responded to a burglary in progress around 4:30 a.m. at the 1200 block of South 320th Street. Suspects were observed on CCTV, but were not located.
Sept. 24
There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
Robbery with firearm: Several unknown suspects robbed a business at the 35600 block of Pacific Highway South around 3:30 a.m.
Nonresidential burglary: Around 1:20 a.m. officers responded to a business located at 1600 South 344th Street due to a report of attempted burglary. A suspect was seen on CCTV and photographs were taken of damaged property after contact was made with store staff who had already arrived at the scene.
Sept. 25
There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
Assault: A victim and witness reported that the victim was assaulted with a broom and a firearm by a suspect at the suspect’s residence. The suspect was contacted via phone and stated that they were trying to make the victim leave their property but did not hit them or draw their firearm.
Sept. 26
There were at least 7 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
Assault with knife: A victim reported being lunged at with a knife around 1:20 a.m. at the 29400 block of Pacific Highway South. The victim stated that the suspect was known to them and that they sustained some minor injuries. The suspect has not been located.
Gaming equipment stolen: A videogame system, gaming pedals and a steering wheel were stolen from a car on the 2600 block of Southwest 337th Street.
Residential burglary: Residents of a home at the 4900 block of Southwest 319th Lane reported that their apartment was broken into sometime between noon and 6 p.m. and items were stolen.
