Pacific Highway South construction update

• SCI Infrastructure has a crew on the project dedicated to tying in grading behind retaining walls, minor pavement patching and other work to blend the Pacific Highway South HOV Lanes phase three project work into private developments. This work will continue until project completion on Nov. 21.

• SCI Infrastructure has a crew on the project dedicated to tying in grading behind retaining walls, minor pavement patching and other work to blend the Pacific Highway South HOV Lanes phase three project work into private developments. This work will continue until project completion on Nov. 21.

• Some parking lot extruded curbing and striping has been delayed due to wet weather. This work will be ongoing, weather permitting.

• Revised stairs to the north building at the View at Redondo Apartments, 29421 Pacific Highway S., will be complete this week. Final fence restoration will also occur this week.

• Final paving around manhole lids and utility valves is ongoing, as weather permits.

• Median planting should be completed this week, weather permitting. Topsoil placement in the sidewalk planter strips should begin by the end of this week. Street tree planting and sod placement will follow. Because of expected wet weather the next few weeks, landscaping work may occur on Saturdays to maintain the project schedule.

• Due to wet weather delays, final segments of sidewalk will be poured through the week of Nov. 17. This work includes replacement of cracked or defective panels.

• Final electrical work will occur the week of Nov. 17.

• Permanent handrails will be installed on top of the project’s concrete barriers the week of Nov. 17.

• Expect daytime lane closures for the above work.
