Students and staff were evacuated from a Federal Way district middle school Wednesday morning after a bomb threat was made.
Kilo Middle School, a Federal Way Public Schools middle school located in unincorporated King County (4400 S. 308th St., Auburn), was evacuated at about 10:32 a.m., district officials said. The King County Sheriff’s Office investigated the threat but found no evidence it was credible.
“We had a couple dogs on scene to search and nothing turned up,” said Sheriff’s’s Office spokeswoman Sgt. Cindi West.
Law enforcement officers declared the area safe at about 1:05 p.m., and students and school staff returned to campus.
Lake Dolloff Elementary School, kitty-corner from Kilo, was also affected by the threat.
“Kilo Middle School and Lake Dolloff Elementary students and staff are safe and continuing their day normally,” a district spokesperson said Wednesday afternoon.
