Join volunteers throughout the community to clean up and beautify local schools from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17.

Join volunteers throughout the community to clean up and beautify local schools from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, as part of the annual Northwest Day of Service.

Come to Decatur, Thomas Jefferson or Truman high schools, Kilo or Lakota middle schools, or Nautilus Elementary. The effort is sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Federal Way Public Schools. Bring gloves and garden tools such as shovels, rakes, grubbing hoes and pruners.

The Northwest Day of Service provides an opportunity for churches, civic organizations and government agencies throughout the Pacific Northwest to strengthen and beautify communities as they link arms and build friendships in meaningful service projects. Federal Way area residents can make a difference here in our community. The 2010 Day of Service provided more than 1,500 hours of service to the Federal Way community.
