On Easter Sunday, April 24, Northwest Church will launch a new satellite campus in north Federal Way. Sunday services will be held at 10 a.m. at Mark Twain Elementary School, 2450 S. Star Lake Road. Each Sunday service will include praise and worship, children’s classes and video teaching from Senior Pastor Steve Schell. A potluck lunch will be hosted after the service each week.
Northwest Church members are actively involved at Mark Twain and the community. Recently, church volunteers rebuilt six of the Mark Twain outdoor benches that were rotted. The volunteers also participated in the school’s PTA Movie Night by giving out free new clothing and school supplies.
“I personally volunteer as a Reading Buddy each week and find it to be a highlight of my week to spend with the kids there,” said Kile Rury, volunteer campus manager at the church, in an email.Last summer, the church spent six days doing maintenance projects at Mark Twain and hosted a free Summer Festival for the community.
