Federal Way police will employ emphasis patrols the first week of August during the National Stop on Red Week. Police will be watching for motorists running red lights.

Running a red light is considered a serious matter. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Traffic Safety Facts 2008 report, more than 2.3 million intersection-related crashes, resulting in 7,770 fatalities and approximately 733,000 injuries in 2008.
