Woman arrested during traffic stop: At 1:26 a.m. on Aug. 23 in the 1900 block of S. 288th St., police pulled over a woman after a traffic violation. The driver was found to have a misdemeanor warrant from Auburn police. She had three outstanding domestic violence charges. She was placed under arrest for the warrant. During the arrest, officers discovered cocaine, a substantial amount of cash on her and a firearm in the vehicle. She was fingerprinted and photographed at the police department for illegal drugs and then booked into SCORE jail on warrant.
Brother assaults sister: At 8:03 p.m. on Aug. 23 in the 2600 block of SW 351st Place, a woman called police to report being assaulted by her brother. When police arrived, there were two victims who quickly became uncooperative. The suspect barricaded himself in the residence and threatened to shoot officers if they came inside. A search warrant was signed and a K9 unit was able to get the suspect to surrender to police.
Teen assaults mother: At 8:50 p.m. on Aug. 23 in the 30000 block of Eighth Ave. SW, police were called to a report of a 15-year-old male who had assaulted his mother and 5-year-old brother. When police arrived, they noticed that the mother was holding back tears and had a 4-5 inch scratch across her chest.
The woman told police that her son had become upset after his younger brother took his new shoes and ran around the house with them. He got upset and pushed his younger brother down. The mother told him not to do that and he slammed a door in her face. She began to take items from his room such as his computer and cell phone. When the younger boy entered the room, the older brother pushed him down again. He was not injured.
The mother then slapped the older son across the face. He closed his fist and raised it to hit her and she replied “I wish you would do it.” He then grabbed her by the neck and pushed her out of the room without strangling her. In that moment, he scratched her across the chest.
Police placed the teen into a patrol vehicle and he was later transported to Seattle Juvenile Detention Center.
Boy stabbed in back: At 11:51 p.m. on Aug. 23 in the 32600 block of Pacific Highway S., a 7-year-old boy was brought to St. Francis Hospital’s emergency room for a stab wound to the back. His parents told doctors he had put a knife in his backpack and was stabbed because of it. But doctors said the parents had no sense of emergency and avoided eye contact when telling what happened. The father reported the child was playing around in the car. When they got out, they noticed he was lying on his side with blood soaked through his shirt. The child told the same story. After police searched their car, they found the backpack with a small puncture hole. Several interviews later, police concluded there was no crime but forwarded the case to Child Protective Services.
Naked man disrupts drivers: At 6:14 a.m. on Aug. 22 in the 100 block of S. 348th St., Police were called to reports of a man in the middle of the road. When they arrived, the man was found standing in the Winco parking lot completely naked. He was very delusional. He said he had snakes inside of him and continued to spit in an attempt to get them out.
His clothes were found on First Avenue South. He was endangering himself in the roadway and possibly ingested a dangerous amount of drugs and/or alcohol. At least six witnesses called 911 reporting a black male naked in the roadway on First Avenue South and South 348th Street intersection. One witness reported a naked black male jumped on the hood of his car. The man was detained without incident or injury and transported to St. Francis by ambulances.
Drunken man in bank parking lot: At 9:37 a.m. on Aug. 22 in the 1400 block of S. 312th St., police receive a call about a subject passed out in the US Bank parking lot. Upon arrival, police located the male lying on the ground with several alcoholic beverage containers around him. He woke up and was identified. Police ran his name through dispatch and found he had an active DOC warrant for escape. He was arrested and transported to SCORE jail for booking without incident.
Suicidal woman committed: At 12:23 p.m. on Aug. 22 at an unknown address on 21st Place S., a woman called 911 to report a suicidal female. The caller stated she observed the woman attempt to hang herself with a belt from the stairway railing. The caller stated she stopped the suicidal woman, but was then locked out of the apartment by her. She stated the suicidal woman left her child with her when she locked the her out of the apartment. The suicidal woman was involuntarily committed to the hospital. The suicidal woman’s sister came to the police station to pick up her children.
Large sum of cash stolen from vehicle: At 2:00 p.m. on Aug. 22 in the 31200 block of Pacific Hwy. S., a woman reported items were stolen from her vehicle. The victim had parked her vehicle in the rear parking lot of the Star Bar at 1:00 p.m. She had left her purse in the car and forgot to lock the doors. Shortly afterwards, she went to her vehicle and discovered her cell phone and $1,400 in cash were taken from her purse. A neighboring business owner stated she had seen a couple of black male juveniles run from the area, but nothing further. No other witnesses, suspects video surveillance were available.
Nurses assaulted during health evaluation: At 8:49 p.m. on Aug. 22 in the 34500 Ninth Ave. S., police responded to a radio call of assault at St. Francis Hospital. The suspect was at St. Francis Hospital for an involuntary mental health evaluation. Suspect attempted to flee the hospital. Two registered nurses attempted to restrain the suspect. The suspect resisted and caused injuries to both registered nurses. The suspect was arrested and booked at SCORE jail.
Wife threatens to kill self with knife: At 2:32 a.m. on Aug. 21 on an unknown block of 20th Place S., a husband and wife were involved in a verbal argument that turned physical when wife retrieved a knife and threatened to kill herself. A grandma was on scene as well and reported the wife yelled, “I am going to kill myself. If not tonight, tomorrow for sure!” As she held the knife in the air. Husband had a warrant out of Renton for domestic violence assault 4. Wife was involuntarily committed to St. Francis and husband was booked into SCORE jail on his warrant. Both parties were uncooperative with police.
Elderly woman fights off man: At 7:17 a.m. on Aug. 21 on an unknown block of South 308th St., a victim reported that an unknown black male attempted to remove her diaper. She yelled for help and scratched him. The male then ran away. The victim is a resident at a nursing home.
Man fails at clean getaway: At 11:34 a.m. on Aug. 21 in the 2100 block of SW 336th St., an employee of a business reported a shoplift of store merchandise. The employee provided a description of the suspect. The suspect was later located at a nearby Taco Bell. The employee arrived at Taco Bell and positively identified the person whom stole six containers of Tide detergent. The male was detained. The male verbally identified himself and admitted to the theft. He was charged with theft. He was released with promise to appear in court on his assigned court date.
Sad, intoxicated man found in woods: At 5:15 p.m. on Aug. 22 in the 900 block of SW Campus Dr., a man was found extremely intoxicated and on 28 Valium. He was found face down in a heavily wooded area. Police were able to get him out and he admitted to the alcohol and pills because he was heartbroken. He was involuntarily committed.
Woman attacks people with hanger: At 11:20 p.m. on Aug. 21 in the Haggen parking lot, police were called about a woman attacking customers with a metal object. Witnesses said the woman appeared to be high. She had also charged cars and scratched them with the object. When police arrived, she had stopped a car in the middle of the road and was slamming her hands on the hood.
The officer was able to handcuff her, but she continued to try to fight him. When he tried to put her in the back seat of his patrol vehicle, she attempted to kick him. He took her to the ground and she sustained a minor cut, but reported no pain.
South King Fire and Rescue responded to the scene, but the woman refused medical attention and yelled racial slurs at them. She was involuntarily committed to St. Francis Hospital.
Woman sexually assaulted as she slept: At 2:50 a.m. on Aug. 20 in the 27800 block of Pacific Highway S., a 55-year-old man was arrested for raping a 69-year-old woman. The woman had let the man and another woman sleep in her living room but awoke to the man inappropriately touching her as she slept. She told him to stop and leave her room. She has never had sexual relations with him, never gave consent and said she never would. After police arrested him, he said he had been in a relationship with the woman years ago but never touched her.
Man hit with steel pipe: At 7:51 a.m. on Aug. 20 in the 1700 block of S. 356th St., a victim reported being assaulted by an unknown white male with a steel pipe. The victim sustained an abrasion on his right rib cage. He declined medical treatment.
Half naked man arrested at City Hall: At 9:19 a.m. on Aug. 20 at Federal Way City Hall, an officer was dispatched to a suspicious person in the City Hall upstairs male restroom. When the officer arrived, the male was naked from the waist down and appeared to be washing his underwear and pants. The male explained he had an accident and needed to clean his clothes before putting them back on. The officer ran his name via dispatch and he returned with a DOC warrant. He was taken into custody after he clothed himself. He was transported to SCORE jail where he was booked.
Drunk man found on golf course: At 6:22 p.m. on Aug. 19 at an unknown block of SW 320th St., a man was found passed out in the middle of a golf club fairway with a beer. He could not stand up without assistance and was belligerent towards officers. Golf Club called due to having to throw him out of bar. He then went outside and passed out on the green.
Naked man arrested after assaulting hospital staff: At 1:20 p.m. on Aug. 18 at St. Francis Hospital, police responded to a report of a fight happening in the emergency room at St. Francis Hospital. The male that was reported as fighting staff matched the description of a man who had committed a robbery at Wal-Mart earlier in the day.
When police arrived, hospital staff said the male was running naked out of the hospital towards South 348th Street. He still had the an IV sticking in his arm.
An employee told police that he had been punched in the eye by the man which was now red and swollen. Police arrested the suspect for assault. He told police he wanted to escape so he wouldn’t go to jail and that heroin makes him do crazy things. Hospital staff said he tackled on employee. The suspect was found to be a five time convicted felon.
Daughter kicks step-mother over iPod: At 5:06 p.m. on Aug. 18 in the 32900 block of Third Ave. SW, a woman called 911 to report that her 13-year-old step-daughter had kicked her in the throat during an argument. The stepmother said she was trying to examine the daughter’s iPod for inappropriate material. When she leaned over, the step-daughter kicked her and knocked her into the wall. Police stated she could not be booked unless she was 16. She was released back to her parents.
