Oct. 23

There were three vehicle thefts, and three vehicles were recovered on this day.

Chinese visas: At about 9 a.m. in the 2900 block of SW 337th Street, a female reported that she was scammed online. She said she found a website claiming to help her apply for Chinese visas for her parents. She paid $700 for the visas and never heard back from the company.

Oct. 24

There were two vehicle thefts, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Naked burglar caught eating candy: At about 9:30 a.m. in the 600 block of S. 320th St., officers responded to a burglary where employees had requested a building search. Officers cleared the building and located a male in the upstairs office with his penis exposed, eating candy. The male was not an employee and broke a window to make unlawful entry into the building. The male was placed under arrest for burglary and was booked into jail.

Attempts to disarm officer: At about 9:30 a.m. at a Federal Way school, a school resource officer responded to a school fight. Upon investigation, one student was severely assaulted, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The victim then attempted to disarm and fight the officer, and was also taken into custody. The victim was released and transported to the hospital due to his injuries.

Man sets Walmart pallets on fire: At about noon at Walmart, employees advised officers of a fire. Upon inspecting camera footage, officers saw a male wearing dark clothing walk over to a group of cardboard pallets and reach toward them. Shortly thereafter, the cardboard pallets can be seen erupting into flames. The flames spread across multiple pallets, putting multiple storage containers and a fence in danger of damage. The male was unable to be identified.

Kickboxing: At about 4:30 p.m. in the 33000 block of 15th Ave. S., a man arrived at the location to pick up his vehicle that was towed. After attempting to pay the tow yard multiple times, but having multiple credit cards declined, the man left the business and entered the parking lot. He began to lace up his boots and then asked officers, “Do you know kickboxing?” De-escalation tactics were used, and the man calmed down.

Oct. 25

There was one vehicle theft, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Kid skipping class: At about 1:45 p.m., a student skipped class and went to Saghalie Park. The student said that a tall white man wearing a black sweatshirt and gray pants allegedly grabbed the student’s wrist and asked for directions. The student walked away, returned to the school, and reported the incident to the school’s assistant principal.

There were two vehicle thefts, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

Cut cables: At about 5:50 a.m. in the 1000 block of SW 320th St., there was a report that fiber optic cables were cut, causing about 12,000 customers to be without internet and television service. Reports were still ongoing. No witnesses came forward, and there were no cameras in the vicinity.

Gas station assault: At about 4:20 p.m. in the 21000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., an assault against an employee was reported at a gas station. The suspect was located by a K9 track and arrested.

Oct. 28

There were two vehicle thefts, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Firearm found in rental car: At about 1:30 p.m. in the 33000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., the manager of a rental agency called to report that a firearm was located inside a returned vehicle. The firearm was recovered and booked into evidence. The serial number on the firearm was run and did not return with a registered owner.

“Puff Daddy” conversation: At about 7 p.m. at Secoma Lanes, a Federal Way officer was dispatched to the bowling alley regarding a juvenile complaint. Upon arrival, the officer contacted the reporting party/social worker regarding the incident. The biological mother violated her visitation stipulations by talking to her 12-year-old daughter about Puff Daddy — also known as Diddy — and his current legal troubles. Both parties wanted this incident to be documented for informational purposes. The child was released into the social worker’s care to be returned to her foster parents.

Attempt to lure child: At about 7:40 p.m. in the 35000 block of 16th Ave. S., officers investigated a luring case. A child was walking to her apartment after exiting a school bus and was approached by an unknown male who attempted to lure her away. The victim was able to evade the suspect and ran home.

Oct. 29

There were two vehicle thefts, and three vehicles were recovered on this day.

Juvenile with a firearm: At about 1:20 p.m. at a Federal Way high school, officers were made aware that a juvenile student on campus at the listed local high school was carrying a firearm on the premises during school hours. The student was frisked and searched, and a loaded firearm was located. The subject was arrested and booked without incident.
