Federal Way’s Multi-Service Center and honorary co-chairs Lydia Assefa-Dawson, Jim Berrios and Yolanda Trout-Manuel will hold the third annual MSC Helps fundraising luncheon on Thursday to benefit Multi-Service Center.
The event will be held Oct. 20 at Emerald Downs in Auburn (2300 Ron Crockett Dr.). Registration opens at 11:30 a.m. with a program, running noon-1 p.m., that will feature guest speaker Dr. Donna Beegle.
According to MSC, Beegle “inspires and educates individuals, organizations, politicians, and entire communities with proven models to better outcomes for people in poverty. Born into a migrant labor family and married at 15, Dr. Beegle is the only member of her family who has not been incarcerated.” She will discuss “the barriers faced by those living poverty, in particular, the effects of poverty on children.”
There is no charge for attending, but guests will be asked to make a donation.
