Sen. Mark Miloscia reported important progress in collaborating with Results Washington this week to implement comprehensive waste reduction and quality measures.
Miloscia’s initial disappointment with progress was met with immediate action from Gov. Jay Inslee’s office for the implementation of lean management in state government.
“I am pleased to report we are moving forward,” wrote Miloscia, R-Federal Way, in a news release. “While my initial criticisms needed to be heard, we are now working together to create legislative solutions that will create the world-class performance system we expect from our state government.”
In his first meeting as chair of the newly created Senate Accountability and Reform Committee last week, Miloscia examined the gaps in information about efforts to implement lean performance systems in Washington.
Results Washington has since made efforts to provide more information and to collaborate on implementing performance measures, plans and assessments to fully realize a lean performance system.
“We are on the path to creating results that are real and bipartisan,” Miloscia continued. “Working with Results Washington is already creating the positive progress we need to make our government the most efficient, effective and ethical in the world.”
