The following is a sample from the Federal Way police blotter:
Movie day gone wrong: At 12:44 a.m. Aug. 20 in the 2000 block of South Commons, units were dispatched to Century Movie Theater in reference to an assault with a knife between two males. Upon arrival, officers concluded that the suspect assaulted two males and then threatened them with a knife. Both victims had minor injuries.
One male versus two females: At 10:50 a.m. Aug. 20 in the 30800 block of 18th Avenue South, officers responded to a report of a fight with a weapon. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male who said he got into a dispute with two females he did not know and that did not live in the apartment complex. The dispute escalated to pushing and shoving. One of the females pulled out a pocket knife but did not open the blade. The male said he did not feel threatened. Both the females were detained. One female was very intoxicated and claimed the male punched her in the face. Her marks did not appear fresh, and the other female said the marks were from an unreported domestic violence incident that the female did not disclose to the officers. The intoxicated female admitted to being an instigator. Both females were released from the scene, and the male did not want any action taken.
Car crash: at 6:16 p.m. Aug. 20 in the 1400 block of Southwest Dash Point Road, an officer responded to a single vehicle collision where the driver was possibly intoxicated. The driver was detained and brought to the station for processing. A blood warrant was issued and while at the hospital for the blood draw, the suspect struck an officer in the face with a closed fist. Eventually the blood draw was completed, and the suspect was booked into SCORE for assault.
Group attack: At 2:08 a.m. Aug. 19 in the 31600 block of 23rd Avenue South, an officer responded to a report of a male who was assaulted by a group of teenagers. Upon arrival the officer met with the victim. The victim was uncooperative and walked away from the officers as they attempted to calm him down and ask questions. He refused to give information about the assault and was only asking for medical attention. The victim refused to identify himself to the officers. Fire personnel responded and examined the victim. His information was obtained but he refused to cooperate in any criminal case to officers. He was transported to St. Francis Hospital for further evaluation of bruising and swelling from being punched in the face. The victim only reported that someone hit him. Security at the transit center reported the victim was seen with the group that assaulted him before. He said he heard the group tell the victim to leave them alone.
Friend’s wife attacks car: At 8:04 p.m. Aug. 19 in the 1700 block of Southwest 318th Place, an officer responded for a malicious mischief in progress. Upon arrival, the officer was contacted by the victim. She told the officer that the wife of her male friend came by her apartment and smashed her headlights and damaged her gas cap door on her vehicle. She told the officer she knows the women and watched her damage her vehicle from inside her house. She also told the officer that she would like the incident documented but does not want to pursue charges at this time.
Who took my ca… oh wait: At 8:17 a.m. Aug. 18 in the 100 block of Southwest Campus drive, a male called to report his vehicle had been stolen. The vehicle was entered into the NCIC as stolen. Approximately 30 minutes later, the male called again saying that he just parked his car in the wrong spot and located his vehicle. It was confirmed on location that his vehicle was not stolen. The vehicle was cleared of its stolen status.
Disgruntled customer: At 3:33 p.m. Aug. 18 in the 1300 block of South 320th Street, staff at a Health Works called to report a threat by a disgruntled customer. Staff advised the patient was upset about the lack of medications he was getting, and as he walked out of the business he said, “I’ll get my shotgun and come back, and teach them a lesson,” which was overheard by another customer waiting in the front lobby. Staff advised the statement was not overheard by any staff members, and they did not want to pursue any action against the customer.
The suspicious ladder: At 5:09 p.m. Aug. 18 in the 31600 block of Pacific Highway South, a FWPD officer viewed a suspicious male carrying a large ladder across the street into the Comfort Inn parking lot. When the male was contacted, he dropped the ladder and fled into a heavily wooded area. There is no known owner of the ladder, and no one reported having their ladder stolen in the area. The ladder was booked into evidence.
Fight outside of gym: At 9:26 p.m. Aug. 17 in the 27400 block of Pacific Highway South, an officer responded to an assault in the parking lot of a gym. It was reported that two females were outside the gym physically fighting before the officer arrived. Both subjects sustained minor injuries. Both requested charges be brought against the other.
That’s not your wood: At 4:40 a.m. Aug. 17 in the 1400 block of South 330th Street, a male was contacted by police as he was pushing a metal cart containing approximately $350 worth of lumber. It was determined that the lumber belonged to a local church that is currently being remodeled.
