There were five vehicle thefts, and three vehicles were recovered on this day.
Caught in stolen vehicle: At about 3:50 p.m. in the 2700 block of Pacific Hwy. S., officers responded to an occupied stolen vehicle. One female was detained, and two male suspects were gone upon arrival. The female suspect was in possession of methamphetamine.
Money stolen: At about 5 p.m. in the 1500 block of South 348th Street, a victim had money stolen from her purse while at a restaurant. Managers located CCTV, which showed the suspect, an employee, stealing the money and then fleeing the area on foot.
Rogue snake: At about 3 p.m. in the 30000 block of 5th Avenue SW, someone reported that he found a large snake in his front yard. When the officer arrived, he identified the snake as a non-venomous corn snake. The snake was recovered and sent to the police department. Animal control then took it into custody.
Pepper sprayed: At about 5:30 p.m. in the 28000 block of Military Road South, a suspect resisted loss prevention officers’ efforts to retrieve stolen merchandise. After retrieving the merchandise and returning the suspect’s bag, the suspect retrieved pepper spray and sprayed the LPOs and a store employee. The suspect was not identified.
Shoplifter pointed gun: At about 11 p.m. in the 2100 block of SW 336th Street, at a Safeway, two employees followed a man who was possibly shoplifting when the man exited through an emergency exit. Employees followed him to the parking lot, and at that point, the suspect pulled out a silver handgun, pointed it at the employees, and said, “Get back.”
July 18
There were zero vehicle thefts, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
$5,000 in cash: At about 10:15 a.m. in the 1600 block of South 344th Street, someone reported they had parked their vehicle at a business for 15 minutes, and when they returned, their vehicle had two broken windows. Upon further investigation, the reporting party found that their backpack was stolen, which contained a laptop and $5,000 in cash. The reporting party said they had an Apple air tag in the backpack, and the bag was still moving. The case was inactive pending further leads.
Men fight over dogs: At about 2 p.m. in the 2000 block of South 288th Street, a man reported that while he was walking his dog, another dog jumped on him and knocked him over. The reporting party’s dog then ran away. The man then began pulling on the dog’s leash because he was angry. The dog’s owner then hit the man, who was knocked over, with a wire dog lead. Officers said they could not charge the man with anything because the reporting party had instigated the altercation.
Armed robber arrested: At about 7:50 p.m. in the 34000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., police were dispatched to an armed robbery that had just occurred. The suspect was located just north of the business and was arrested without incident. A firearm was found on the suspect, and he was booked into jail on a robbery charge.
July 19
There were zero vehicle thefts, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Employee steals $160,000: At about 4 p.m. in the 21000 block of 1st Avenue South, a man reported that his employee had stolen $160,000 over six months through business bank accounts.
Gun stolen from vehicle: At about 5 p.m., someone reported that a firearm had been stolen from their vehicle.
Juvenile assaulted: At about 6 p.m. at Wild Waves, a juvenile female reported that the suspect smacked her on her buttocks as he walked by while both were swimming at Wild Waves. The suspect was located, and originally, the victim only wanted him banned from Wild Waves, but then the mother of the victim wanted to pursue criminal charges.
July 20
There was one vehicle theft, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Soccer fight: At about 9 a.m. on South 324th Place, officers were dispatched to a fight between two teams. Post-game, the suspect approached the victim and kicked him repeatedly, resulting in abrasions to his chest and elbow. Another fight then ensued, and a player received a small abrasion to his temple. No charges were pressed.
Found shell cases: At about 5 p.m. on South 336th Street, someone reported that they found spent shell casings on the roadway.
Armed robbery: At about 9:15 p.m. on SW 336th Street, a male suspect walked into a smoke shop, displayed a handgun in his waistband, and demanded money from the register as well as merchandise. The suspect fled on foot, but was not located.
Gun discharged in the air: At about 9:30 p.m. in the Barnes and Noble parking lot, officers received a call stating that there was an illegal discharge. Officers located four 10 mm shell casings. A witness said they saw a male fire two to four shots in the air before leaving in a silver sedan.
July 21
There were two vehicle thefts, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.
Man touching himself: At about 4:23 a.m. in the 2700 block of Pacific Hwy. S., the reporting party said that a man fondled his own genitals as the reporting party served a drink to him through the drive-through window of a coffee stand.
Gun pointed at dog: At about 7:20 p.m. in the 2400 block of South 312th Street, the victim reported that he was in a verbal argument with an unknown male, and then the unknown male pointed a gun at his dog and then left the area.
Gun stolen: At about 8 p.m. in the 2600 block of South 312th Street, someone reported that his backpack and gun were stolen.
July 22
There were three vehicle thefts, and three vehicles were recovered on this day.
Napping with his gun: At about 10:45 a.m. in the 1200 block of South 336th Street, officers located a man sleeping in a stairwell holding a gun.
Urination and more: At about 10:40 p.m. in the 33000 block of 13th Place South, officers observed a man urinating in the roadway, and he was then arrested. Once in handcuffs, he spit in the officer’s face and eye. The male was booked for felony assault on an officer.
July 23
There were zero vehicle thefts, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Nude male: At about 1:10 a.m. in the 3400 block of Pacific Hwy. S., a man was observed fully nude, and when contacted, he refused to put his clothes on.
