March 29
Open flame: At about 2:19 a.m. near the 2500 block of SW 320th Street, a suspect was contacted with an open fire next to a church. The suspect was arrested, processed at the Federal Way Police Department and released on his own recognizance.
Cousin conflict: At about 9:05 p.m. near the 800 block of SW 308th Street, two cousins began fighting at Lake Grove Park. When police arrived, one of the involved subjects claimed to have been stabbed. Both of the men were detained. No weapons were found and both men had minor scratches. Neither of the men wanted to cooperate with the investigation.
March 30
Car break-in: At about 10 a.m. near the 35500 block of 1st Avenue South, a white Ford F350 pulled up to a man’s vehicle and gained access by breaking the lock. The suspect then drove off and was not located. Several items were stolen including a GPS, Pelican Box and tools. The total loss is about $980.
Shooting: At about 9:57 a.m. near the 34500 block of 9th Avenue South, a person arrived at St Francis Hospital. The shooting was found to have happened in Des Moines near South 260th Street and Pacific Highway South.
Fist fight at FWHS: At about 12:26 p.m. near the 30600 block of 16th Avenue South, students engaged in a mutual fist fight at Federal Way High School. One of the students escalated after the fight, forcing the school into a lockdown.
Shoplifter arrested: At about 5 p.m. near the 2200 block of South Commons, a suspect was arrested after shoplifting at the Target store. The suspect was booked for a DOC No Bail warrant at SCORE Jail.
Teens assault woman: At about 5:55 p.m. near the 1200 block of South 336th Street, a woman reported that five days ago, some teenagers were touching her friend’s shopping cart which contained her belongings. The woman yelled at the teens and got into an argument. One of the teens punched the victim in the face and another teen kicked her. The woman suffered a jaw contusion and was unable to report the incident earlier due to not having a phone.
March 31
Wanderer reunited: At about 3:42 p.m. near the 34500 block of 16th Avenue South, a person with early on-set dementia wandered away from their family while at the Super Walmart. Safe City cameras were able to track her movements in the area. Officers were able to locate the person, who was unharmed, nearby. The person was reunited with family.
Clogged toilet: At about 3:36 p.m. near the 35200 block of Pacific Highway South, two people came into a U-Haul rental business and the woman asked to use the bathroom. While in the bathroom, the woman clogged the toilet and advised the employee to check on it. When the employee checked the bathroom, the male suspect reached over the counter and stole the U-Haul keys. The employee didn’t notice until they saw the couple driving away in the U-Haul. The suspects have not been located. Video footage provided to police.
Firearm pointed: At about 5:19 p.m. near the 27300 block of 24th Place South, a person reported that an unknown man pointed a firearm at a boy and accused him of ding dong ditching his condo.
Teen with pistol: At about 4:40 p.m. near the 2200 block of South 314th Street, police responded to a report of a threat with a weapon. The 18-year-old suspect was in possession of a pistol. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail.
April 1
Ex-boyfriend rage: At about 6:59 a.m. near the 32100 block of 33d Avenue SW, an ex-boyfriend showed up at a woman’s residence in a rage and damaged her vehicles parked in the driveway. The ex punctured the tires to both cars and shattered a window of the BMW.
Suspect assaults kid: At about 11:23 a.m. near the 3300 block of SW 333rd Street, a mother reported that the day before, her son was assaulted while walking home from school. An unknown man in a mask hit the boy in the stomach and then fled in a vehicle after the assault. No suspect information.
April 2
Gas station robbery: At about 12:35 a.m. near the 31800 block of Pacific Highway South, officers responded to a robbery at the ARCO gas station. The suspect fled prior to arrival and was not located.
Hitchhiking gone bad: At about 12:30 p.m. on March 29, a man hitchhiked to work by getting into a vehicle near the 27600 block of Pacific Highway South. A short time into the ride, the front passenger turned around with a semi-automatic handgun and demanded his wallet. The man provided the suspect with his wallet. The man was forced to lay on his stomach as the suspects drove into Kent. He was released from the vehicle in Kent.
Bank robbery: At about 12:55 p.m. near the 1900 block of SW Campus Drive, police responded to reports of a bank robbery.
April 3
Employee assaulted: At about 9:15 p.m. near the 2400 block of South 288th Street, an employee at a laundromat was assaulted. The employee was hit in the face. The suspect was gone prior to police arrival.
Fire at the club: At about 11:56 p.m. near the 2000 block of South 320th Street, a person was seen throwing a beer bottle that was on fire at a nightclub. The fire did not cause any damage and was put out. The subject ran away but was apprehended nearby.
April 4
Off-roading: At about 7:30 a.m. near the 1000 block of South 324th Place, a vehicle stolen out of Kent was found down a ravine in Celebration Park. The vehicle had excessive damage to the front and back ends. Both license plates were missing. No suspect information.
Shoplifter shows gun: At about 5:36 a.m. near the 32900 block of Pacific Highway South, an unknown man attempted to shoplift and brandished a firearm at the Grocery Outlet store owner.
Stolen backpack: At about 9:25 p.m. near the 31200 block of Pacific Highway South, a woman was leaving a grocery store and as she got into her vehicle, a man opened her passenger door and stole her backpack. The suspect ran to another vehicle and fled the scene. No identifiable suspects.
April 5
Aisle on fire: At about 7:40 p.m. near the 34500 block of 16th Avenue South, an aisle of the Super Walmart was set on fire. Police and fire crews arrived to extinguish the flames. Police have a possible suspect.
