Sept. 25

There were two vehicle thefts, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Shoplifter hit with a car: At about 8:10 p.m., in the 32000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., a male suspect was observed on camera shoplifting from a store. The suspect took $550 worth of jeans without paying for them, but one of the pairs contained a tracking device. A male matching the description was later found in the area where the tracker was pinpointing. When he was contacted, he dropped his bags and fled on foot. As the man crossed a nearby intersection against the no-walk sign, a vehicle hit him, causing him to catapult through the air and land on the opposite side of the intersection. The male was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Sept. 26

There were three vehicle thefts, and three vehicles were recovered on this day.

Man’s car shot: At about 1 p.m. in the 1900 block of SW 322nd Place, a male awoke to discover his father’s truck had been struck by one bullet during the night. The reporting party said he heard approximately five gunshots during the night. No other witnesses were found. Photographs were taken, but no further evidence was found.

Homicide vehicle: At about 4:05 p.m. in the 400 block of 37th Street SE in Auburn, a Federal Way Police Department officer assigned to Valley SWAT responded to assist with an operation to seize a homicide vehicle and detain its occupants, all of whom were armed.

Sept. 27

There were three vehicle thefts, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

Smashed window at business: At about 5:50 a.m., in the 34000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., officers were dispatched to an audible alarm at the listed location. Upon arrival, officers observed a repairman working on a broken storefront window and door. Officers cleared the building, finding no one inside. The business owner arrived and provided surveillance footage of the suspect using a vehicle to break into the storefront. No other damage was done to the business, and no items were taken. Repair costs for the window and door are estimated at $18,000.

Assault at the transit center: At about 5:10 p.m. at the Federal Way Transit Center, a male victim was assaulted by being randomly punched in the face by an unknown male. The victim provided a recorded statement and positively identified the male detained nearby. The suspect was arrested after brief resistance and then booked into jail.

Toy guns: At about 7:35 p.m. in the 31000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., officers responded to the listed location for juveniles possibly shooting Nerf guns, paintball guns, or pellet guns. Officers located the juveniles possessing “Orbeez” gel blasters and one all-black pellet gun. Parents were called and responded to the scene to pick up the juveniles and take them home. The black pellet gun was seized and booked into evidence for safekeeping due to it resembling a real handgun. Victims were not located, and a crime was not determined.

Sept. 28

There were four vehicle thefts, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Man shot at park: At about 3:30 p.m. in the 900 block of S. 315th St., officers responded to a hospital in Tacoma regarding a male who suffered a gunshot wound to his right side ribcage. The victim stated that the incident occurred in a Federal Way public park. During an interview with the victim, officers could not obtain any pertinent evidence leading to a suspect. There was no video surveillance or witnesses at the time of the shooting.

Burger King robbed: At about 7:25 p.m. in the 34000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., officers responded to a report of a robbery at Burger King. The suspect used a metal stick to strike an employee and stole approximately $200 from the cash register. The victim was provided aid on the scene.

Sept. 29

There were three vehicle thefts, and three vehicles were recovered on this day.

7-Eleven robbery: At about 1:30 a.m., in the 34000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., officers responded to a panic alarm activated at 7-Eleven. On arrival, officers were waved down by a store employee who said she was just robbed at gunpoint. The suspects fled in a vehicle prior to police arrival.

Woman displaying knife arrested: At about 4:10 a.m. in the 31000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., officers responded to a threat with a knife, in which a female displayed a small black pocket-style knife to a security officer and refused to leave. The female was located a short time later and placed into custody.

iPad and mouthwash: At about 8:30 a.m., in the 2000 block of S. 320th St., someone broke into a business and stole an iPad. Additionally, the bathroom had been used, and mouthwash was left behind, and several areas were disheveled.

Student’s marijuana: A student at a Federal Way High School was found to be in possession of two marijuana cigars. FWPD officers gave a drug warning, and the marijuana was booked as evidence for destruction. The school carried out discipline according to their procedures, and parents were advised. This was the student’s first time getting disciplined for this type of action.

Robber arrested: At about 12:35 p.m., in the 34000 block of 16th Ave. S., officers responded to an armed robbery. Officers located the suspect vehicle, and a brief pursuit ensued. The listed male was arrested.

Robbed at knifepoint: At about 10:05 p.m. in the 27000 block of 23rd Place S., the victim reported that two young males about 18 to 20 years old had approached him in the parking lot, pulled a knife on him, and robbed him of his Rolex watch, a credit card, $80 in cash, and a set of golf clubs. The victim did not know the suspects. The suspects fled in a vehicle. No suspects were located at that time.

Oct. 1

There was one vehicle theft, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Firearm discharged: At about 9:20 p.m. in the 1800 block of S. 284th Lane, officers were advised that there were several callers stating that there were about eight to nine shots fired, and one caller said they heard yelling. Officers responded to the call, but did not locate anyone who was injured, and there were no suspect leads. The suspects left in a black SUV, possibly a Lincoln Navigator, with two occupants.
