Man wanders street in underwear: At 5:35 p.m. on March 13 in the 35200 block of Fourth Place SW, a man was found by police after wandering away from home. The man told police that unknown people were tearing his clothes and zip tying them. Police saw that no one had actually done such a thing. He then told police that he believed that unknown people move and mess with his belongings. The manager of his group home said he saw the man wandering disoriented in the backyard wearing only his underwear. The man was involuntarily committed.
Man threatens to kill himself during argument: At 4:31 p.m. on March 12 in the 1700 block of S. 334th Lane, an intoxicated man was making suicidal statements. During the course of a verbal argument with his wife, the man put a pocket knife to his neck and said he was going to kill himself. His wife called 911 and stated that his actions had become more erratic recently when he is intoxicated. The man was involuntarily committed.
Man passes out at business: At 2:52 p.m. on March 12 in the 32000 block of Pacific Highway S., security at a business noticed a highly intoxicated male enter the building. Security asked the man to leave, but instead he walked to the back of the store and fell to the ground. Police arrived and tried to wake the man but could not get a response. South King Fire and Rescue responded to assist with medical aid. Police found that the man had an outstanding warrant. He was transported to St. Francis, then to SCORE jail for booking.
Arrested woman tells police she was raped: At 4:22 p.m. on March 12 in the 200 block of SW 356th St., a woman who was in custody for drug possession, resisting arrest, mail theft and other crimes told police that she had been raped. She refused to provide more information about the incident because “no one would care.” The woman stated that her body hurt. She then told medics that she had been raped by multiple men. While the medics checked on her, she admitted to swallowing an “eight ball” of meth and ingesting cocaine. She was transported to St. Francis to have a rape kit completed.
Tires slashed at park: At 6:15 p.m. on March 12 in the 31500 block of First Ave. S., a victim reported that he was involved in an altercation at the park after he caught a teenage male going through his backpack. The victim patted the male down to make sure nothing had been stolen. The suspect then yelled threats at the man before leaving the park. When the victim returned to his vehicle, he found that three of his tires had been slashed. He told police that they were the only people at the park when the incident occurred.
Car hits tree: At 2:04 p.m. on March 11 in the 2800 block of SW 332nd Place, officers responded to a single-vehicle-versus-tree collision. An investigation of the incident revealed that a vehicle was driving eastbound at a high rate of speed when it was unable to negotiate a corner. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver and passenger were injured.
Washer and dryer stolen: At 4:13 p.m. on March 11 in the 400 block of S. 325th Place, a victim reported that he had just finished legally evicting tenants from a condo. Upon checking the condo, the victim found that the former tenants had removed the washer and dryer from within the unit. They were valued at $1,000. The victim stated the suspects’ whereabouts were unknown.
Couple assaulted at gas station: At 7:32 p.m. on March 11 in the 1700 block of S. 356th St., victims called police to report that they had been assaulted in a gas station parking lot. The victims said they were picking up their daughter when they were assaulted by two known suspects. Both victims declined aid. The suspects were arrested.
Woman robbed at gunpoint: At 4:02 p.m. on March 10 in the 35700 block of 16th Ave. S., a victim called police to report that two masked subjects forced their way into her apartment. The victim said that the suspects robbed her at gunpoint and fled the scene. There was limited suspect information.
Burglars break into Wal-Mart, steal nothing: At 6:36 p.m. on March 10 at 1900 S. 314th St., three suspects attempted to enter Wal-Mart while it was closed. One male gained entry into the building and attempted to steal property. The suspect left the property behind.
Gun drawn at traffic light: At 11:10 a.m. on March 9 in the 30400 block of Pacific Highway S., a suspect pointed a handgun at a victim while they were stopped in vehicles at a traffic light. The suspect fled the scene on foot and was not located.
Dog owner arrested: At 11 a.m. on March 9 in the 2500 block of S. 317th St., an off-leash pit bull ran across the street and jumped at a female holding her small dog above her head. This was the second reported occurrence between the two dogs. The owner of the pit bull was contacted by police and arrested. The owners were issued civil infractions for unlicensed dogs and being a public nuisance. The dog is at large.
Wires cut at crosswalk: At 10:35 a.m. on March 9 in the 1600 block of SW 356th St., a citizen called police to report that the crosswalk system in the area had been vandalized and was no longer working. An officer saw that the control boxes had been forced open and the wires had been cut, causing the controlled lighting system to fail. Federal Way Public Works was advised of the damage. The loss value was undetermined at the time of the report.
Car rolls into road: At 2:45 p.m. on March 9 at the Commons Mall, a woman forgot to set the emergency brake in her vehicle when parked at the Commons Mall by Sears. The manual transmission was also unintentionally left in neutral. The car rolled about 200 feet through the parking lot then went over the concrete curbing and a retaining wall before coming to a stop on Pacific Highway S. The owner of the vehicle was located in the store and retrieved her car. The car sustained minor damage, as did the bricks of the retaining wall.
Employee hit with chair: At 9:33 a.m. on March 8 in the 1600 block of S. 347th Place, an assistant manager at Jack in the Box was assaulted by an unknown male. The manager asked a group of three people to leave the restaurant because they were sleeping and loitering. The unknown male suspect then became upset. As he walked towards the exit, he grabbed a plastic high chair and threw it behind him. The chair bounced off the floor and hit the manager. She had no visible injury but reported pain. Police were unable to locate the male suspect.
BB gun and pepper spray used in robbery: At 7:20 p.m. on March 8 in the 2700 block of S. 288th St., officers responded to a report of a robbery. Two teenage brothers told police they were pepper-sprayed and had a gun pulled on them by other teenagers who tried to take their groceries. One of the victims was able to identify the male suspect that had pulled the gun on him.
Officers went to the suspect’s house, and he was arrested immediately after answering the door. His mother retrieved a BB gun that another family member had taken away from him earlier in the day after seeing it. The suspect told police that the group he was with egged on a female to pepper-spray the two brothers. He stated that he did not get involved until they pushed the female suspect down. He insisted that he never presented the gun as real. He was booked into the King County Juvenile Detention Facility for robbery.
Electronics stolen from business: At 10:40 a.m. on March 7 in the 35100 block of Pacific Highway S., police received a report that, sometime overnight, someone unlawfully entered a business and took several new iPhone 6s and five or six Toshiba laptop computers. There were no signs of forced entry into the business. The suspects targeted only the areas where the items were taken and left behind several other commonly stolen electronics.
Man points gun at wife: At 11:30 p.m. on March 7 in the 31800 block of 49th Terrace SW, police responded to a domestic dispute. When police arrived, a woman told police that her husband pointed a gun at her and threatened to shoot her. The man had become angry after an evening of drinking and napping on the couch. When the victim woke the suspect up, he became upset and began to throw things and yell. He threatened to shoot her if she did not find his cell phone that he had thrown.
She told police that he had left their home moments before after she retrieved his phone. Police realized he was the man who walked away right as they arrived. They found the man and told him to drop the gun and put his hands in the air, but he instead put the gun in the pocket of his hoody and raised his hands into the air. The victim confirmed it was the same weapon pointed at her when police showed her the gun. The suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
