The following is a sample from the Federal Way police public information log:

• At 1:10 p.m. Jan. 19 in the 2500 block of South 286th Street, a man told police he was hearing voices and thought someone had placed speakers in his home and at school and were using them to talk to him. He said the city is planning skits to take place in his life. The man has a history of calling 911 with similar information.

• At 7:45 a.m. Jan. 19 in the 1000 block of 316th Place, someone threw a large landscaping brick at a victim’s vehicle. It damaged the hood and roof and cracked the windshield.

• At 7:03 p.m. Jan. 20 at 12th Avenue Southwest, an elementary student confided in school officials that her older brother tried to rape her.

• At 7:15 p.m. Jan. 20 at 1900 S. 314th St., a panhandler was spat on by a retail security guard when the panhandler became angry with the guard after he was told to leave the property.

• At 3:49 p.m. Jan. 19 in the 33000 block of 22nd Place South, a victim reported receiving harassing phone calls. In one call, the unidentified caller hung up after saying “You want me to bring some boys over?”

• At 7:50 p.m. Jan. 19 at 33216 Pacific Highway S., police were dispatched to a scene where a suspect was found slumped over the steering wheel of a running motor vehicle. The driver appeared under the influence of an unidentified substance and was arrested for DUI. He or she then became aggressive with officers and made threats against them.

• At 3:23 a.m. Jan. 18 at 30600 Pacific Highway S., a victim reported he was shot in the face by two unknown suspects.

• At 12:08 p.m. Jan. 18 at 2812 S.W. 330th St., wheels from a vehicle were stolen while the vehicle was legally parked.

• At 6:52 p.m. Jan. 18 in the 1000 block of Southwest 312th Street, a victim reported an acquaintance punched her in the head and face after an argument over how the victim was acting while caring for the suspect’s children.
