The following is a sample from the Federal Way police public information log:
• At 10:38 p.m. Nov. 2 in the 37100 block of 12th Avenue South, police responded to a call about a suspicious person. They arrived to find a male in the road with his pants around his ankles. While attempting to detain the suspect, he fled.
• At 3:57 p.m. Nov. 1 in the 2100 block of South 324th Street, a woman’s purse was stolen while she offered an open house at her home. The woman is selling her home and acting as her own agent.
• At 9:49 p.m. Nov. 1 in the 2000 block of South 320th Street, a victim reported an unknown male shot at him while on the freeway.
• At 1:47 a.m. Oct. 31 at 31855 Pacific Highway S., a male in his 30s shoplifted beef jerky and peanuts.
• At 3:44 p.m. Oct. 31 in the 2400 block of South 320th Street, police contact a subject who was rambling about the Russian intelligence agency the K.G.B, F.B.I. and aircraft carriers. The subject believed the F.B.I. was digging a tunnel through the city. The subject told police he or she was supposed to be using prescribed Lithium.
• At 7:57 p.m. Oct. 31 in the 34600 block of 12th Avenue Southwest, police were contacted about a suspect shooting paintballs at trick-or-treaters.
• At 11:56 p.m. Oct. 31 at 1400 S. 320th Street, a suspect was arrested and cited for prostitution.
• At 5:48 p.m. Oct. 30 at 2201 S. Commons, a homeless person stole a tent to use as shelter. No charges were pressed.
• At 10:04 p.m. Oct. 30 in the 30200 block of 13th Avenue South, what appeared to be a sparkler bomb was set off in a mailbox. There are no suspects.
• At 8:11 a.m. Oct. 29 in the 1700 block of Southwest 359th Street, a resident reported yard trimmers stolen from his or her garage. The person stated the neighbor was known not to like that he or she regularly used the trimmers at 6 p.m.
• At 9:47 a.m. Oct. 29, police were informed that a level-two sex offender last seen two weeks prior failed to register his or her location with King County.
• At 5:23 p.m. Oct. 29 in the 2600 block of Southwest 332nd Street, a call was placed for a welfare check. A woman reported she had not heard from her father all day. Police discovered the man deceased from what appeared to be one gunshot wound to the head.
