Man caught filming kids in locker room | Federal Way Police Blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log from July 5-11.

July 5

There were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Mailbox blown up: At about 7 a.m. near the 30600 block of 8th Avenue South, a resident reported that their mailbox had been blown up with fireworks. Security footage captured a person outside the home that night, but it is not clear if that suspect is the one who put the fireworks inside the mailbox.

Robbery: At about 9:13 p.m. near the 34500 block of Pacific Highway South, officers responded to reports of a strong-armed robbery.

July 6

There were at least 8 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Car vandalized: At about 9 a.m. near the 2200 block of South Star Lake Road, officers responded to reports of vandalism. Around 11 p.m. the night before, a person had a vehicle that was parked in their parking spot towed. A few hours later, the person found their vehicle was vandalized with a can of white house paint.

Scooter stopped: At about 11:35 a.m. near the 31900 block of 47th Avenue SW, a suspect attempted to flee a traffic stop but lost control of his scooter as he was turning. He was detained after he attempted to flee and a warrant for his arrest was confirmed. The suspect was booked into jail.

Voyeurism at theme park: At about 6:14 p.m. near the 36200 block of Enchanted Parkway South, officers were called to the men’s restroom at Wild Waves. A person reported to security that there was a man in the locker room filming young children in the shower.

July 7

There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Dog unattended: At about 3:08 p.m. near Enchanted Parks, it was reported that a dog was left unattended in a vehicle during warm weather.

Patient assaults staff: At about 4 p.m. near the 34500 block of 9th Avenue South, a patient at St. Francis Hospital became enraged at staff for calling the police and assaulted two staff members.

Hit-and-run: At about 7:52 p.m. near the 30400 block of 28th Avenue SW, officers responded to reports of an erratic driver. Before police arrived, the driver committed a hit-and-run crime. The driver was located and taken into custody.

July 8

There were at least 2 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Arson near Walmart: At about 2 a.m. near the 1900 block of South 314th Street, police responded to an arson fire near Walmart. The firefighters on scene extinguished the flames and the King County Fire Investigator responded to the scene.

Stolen vehicle, trailers: At about 11 a.m. near the 34200 block of 23rd Avenue SW, officers detained a person inside a stolen vehicle. A dangerous weapon was found on the suspect. The suspect was arrested and the vehicle was impounded. At the same residence, two stolen trailers were found.

Fraudulent check: At about 4:43 p.m. near the 34600 block of 16th Avenue South, it was reported that a person visited a used car lot and attempted to purchase a vehicle with a fake check. The employee recognized the check was a fake and denied the sale.

July 9

There were at least 3 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Nightclub assault: At about 12:39 a.m. near the 2000 block of South 320th Street, a man was assaulted at a nightclub by four other men. The man suffered several face and head lacerations. The fire department provided aid to the man. The male suspects fled in a dark SUV and were not located.

Drive-by shooting: At about 5:45 p.m. near the 34000 block of 1st Place South, officers responded to the location for reports of a drive-by shooting. At the scene, officers found bullet casings and two witnesses shared their version of the events. Both witnesses said they say a man in a passenger seat fire two shots toward a home. Officers did not find any bullet defects on the home and no one reported any injuries.

July 10

There were at least 10 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Assault: At about 6:45 p.m. near the 30400 block of Pacific Highway South, a suspect assaulted a victim by grabbing their neck and attempting to force them to the ground.

Threats with weapon: At about 7:52 p.m. near the 900 block of SW Campus Drive, police were dispatched to a threat with a weapon. The suspect was arrested without incident.

July 11

There were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Knife assault: At about 7:58 p.m. near the 29500 block of 21st Place South, a female suspect assaulted a man with a knife. The female suspect was arrested and transported to jail.
