There were five vehicle thefts, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Possible drive-by shooting: In the 2200 block of South 282nd Street at about 3:11 a.m., officers were dispatched to a non-injury shooting, but upon inspecting the area, they could not find evidence of a shooting. The reporting woman said that her son was involved with people who are part of local gangs, but she could not name any of the gangs or people.

Scratcher theft: In the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South at about noon, officers took a report of a theft of scratch-off lottery tickets. An unknown male came into the convenience store and stole eight scratch tickets worth about $80.

Fraud: In the 34000 block of Pacific Highway South at about 11:43 a.m., the manager of Banner Bank called to report a cash withdrawal fraud that occurred on May 31, 2024, after he saw a news report from Q13 news, which showed the same woman he was reporting as a perpetrator of fraud throughout King County.

There were zero vehicle thefts, and three vehicles were recovered on this day.

Chris Gilbert: In the 100 block of SW 353rd Street at about 2:30 p.m., a woman reported to an officer that she fell for a phone scam. She said she was speaking to someone over the phone who went by the name “Chris Gilbert.” She said this person convinced her to open a bank account in New York, so she sent the scammer pictures of her identification. She said her usual bank then flagged an attempted wire transfer for $40,000. She ultimately did not lose any money.

Fake name to police: At about 1:35 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle in the 29000 block of 9th Place S. During the stop, the driver of the vehicle gave FWPD a fake name. Upon discovering his attempt to provide a fake name, he was arrested for obstruction of justice.

June 8

There were three vehicle thefts, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

Water park assault: At Wild Waves Theme and Water Park at about 4 p.m., security requested police interference after an adult assaulted a juvenile because the juvenile cut in line. The adult pushed the juvenile and tried to grab the juvenile’s phone. The adult said she did this because she thought the phone was hers because she had the same one.

June 9

There were three vehicle thefts, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

Man asks police for more alcohol: In the 34000 block of Pacific Highway South at about 1 p.m., officers assisted a man who said he needed help getting home. After speaking to the man, officers could tell the man was visibly intoxicated. After more conversation, the man asked police officers if they could buy him more alcohol, and he asked the officers not to shoot him. Due to concern that the man would continue to drink, officers involuntarily committed him.

Gun brandished: In the 24000 block of Pacific Highway South at about 4 p.m., officers responded to a report that a man pointed a gun at them and then drove away. Officers located the vehicle, and the suspect was seen leaving the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was detained and released. K-9s were sent to find the suspect, but he was ultimately not found.

June 10

There was one vehicle theft, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

McConcrete: At McDonald’s in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South at about midnight, there was a report of a man on the roof of McDonald’s throwing concrete bricks off the roof, hitting one vehicle. After negotiations, the man got off the roof and was taken to the hospital for a mental health and drug evaluation.

Multiple snakes recovered: In the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South at about 2:34 p.m., officers responded to an assault between two strangers. The alleged perpetrator of the assault hit another man with a flashlight. He was subsequently arrested and was found to have various snakes in his possession.

Shooting threat: On South 320th Street and 8th Avenue at about 9 a.m., a driver reported that a bicyclist had gotten angry at the driver, saying that the driver had hit the bicyclist. The driver said the bicyclist then broke the driver’s truck mirror, and then he told the driver using expletives that he would assault him, and he told the driver he would shoot him. The bicyclist then biked away.

Senior brawl: In the 1500 block of South 328th Street at about 11 a.m., officers responded to a senior living home in which two elderly women had gotten into a dispute in which they ended up assaulting one another.

Juvenile with a firearm: In the 35000 block of 16th Avenue South at about noon, officers responded to a report of a juvenile with a firearm. After the juvenile was searched, he was found to have a firearm in his backpack. He was booked into King County Youth Detention Center.

Shooting: In the 33000 block of 29th Place SW at about 10 p.m., there was a report of a shooting. Officers investigated and found two spent shell casings, but could not find any damage or injured people.

June 11

There were four vehicle thefts, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

Intoxicated man committed: In the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South at about 3 p.m., an officer responded to a man who was thought to be under the influence of drugs. The officer said that the man said he thought he was in Seattle, stated it was Monday despite it being Tuesday, and said it was February. The man was on the ground, unable to walk. Due to the man’s behavior, businesses had locked their doors. Because he was a harm to himself, he was involuntarily committed.

Knives pulled: In the 1200 block of South 320th Street at 3 p.m., a Hispanic male pulled out two knives while fighting with a customer and security, and shouted things in Spanish while making stabbing motions. The man then fled. The victims did not want to press charges.
