Lakehaven Utility District board of commissioners has a vacant seat

Beverly Tweddle, a member of the Lakehaven Utility District board of commissioners, has resigned from her post.

Tweddle’s husband submitted a letter of resignation. The board will officially accept the resignation at today’s meeting (April 15), said Charles Gibson, board member.

“She’s in a nursing home right now,” Gibson said Wednesday. “It’s a very difficult situation for us. She’s been an excellent board member.”

Tweddle has been a board commissioner since 1988.

The position held by Tweddle is currently vacant and will be filled by appointment by the board. Applications are due by day’s end May 1 and are available at the district’s main office, 31627 1st Ave. S., or online at www.lakehaven.org. The appointee will be required to run in November for the two years remaining on the term held by Tweddle. To learn more, call Lisa Alexander at (253) 946-5420.
