The 55th annual Kiwanis Salmon Bake will run 4 to 8 p.m. July 29 at Steel Lake Park, 2410 S. 312th St.

At the 2010 event, about 435 tickets were sold for the fundraiser, with almost $3,000 raised from auction items. All proceeds from the dinner and raffle will benefit local charities for children. Some of the Kiwanis biggest contributions are to several college scholarships for Federal Way students, as well as diapers and formula for the Multi-Service Center.
