Federal Way Public Schools board members and Superintendent Tammy Campbell stand with Federal Way Kiwanis Club members as the Kiwanis Club presented the school district with a ceremonial check for $18,330 at the March 27 meeting. The donation goes toward support of school activities.
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. As part of this partnership, Federal Way Public Schools commits to donating 25 percent of the amount received from the Kiwanis Club of Federal Way to the Bridging A Gap Program. BAG Program program President Valerie Danforth was presented a check of $4,582 at the meeting.
The BAG Program was established in 2014 to provide food for students in Federal Way Public Schools who might not otherwise have a reliable source of nutrition over the weekends and during school breaks.
