Kilo Middle School and Lake Dolloff Elementary School were both in lockdown from 2:15 p.m. to 2:29 p.m. due to police activity in the area.
The schools’ staff decided to put both places on lockdown after unauthorized adolescents were found lurking around. Police responded and school staff escorted the individuals off campus. The adolescences were given no trespass notices, according to Ann Cook, Federal Way Public Schools spokesperson.
“The lockdown was brief and was done only as an abundance of caution,” Cook said.
Families were notified through the automated call-out system on the district Facebook page at www.facebook.com/fwps210 and on this the Federal Way Public School’s website.
