Kent Police arrest three in shooting that injured Federal Way man

Kent Police arrested three people in a shooting Monday evening, Nov. 1 that injured a 19-year-old Federal Way man on the West Hill.

Officers responded at about 5:15 p.m. near the intersection of Pacific Highway South and Kent Des Moines Road, according to police. Officers and medics found a man with gunshot wounds that were not life threatening. Paramedics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

While detectives investigated the shooting, they spotted a vehicle believed to be connected to the shooting. Officers pursued the fleeing vehicle and used a successful pursuit intervention technique (PIT) to safely stop the fleeing vehicle on Orillia Road, a couple of miles northeast of the shooting.

Police arrested a 17-year-old Tukwila male and a 17-year-old Federal Way male for investigation of first-degree assault. They also arrested a 20-year-old Federal Way woman, the alleged driver of the vehicle, for investigation of drive-by shooting and eluding an officer.

Police did not release a motive for the shooting but said the 19-year-old Federal Way man was not a random victim.
