April 2

There were two vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Residential burglary: At 12:25 a.m. in the 28000 block of 28th Avenue South, there was a report that officers responded to a residential burglary. Officers investigated.

Fleeing from police: At 3:14 a.m. in the 28000 block of South 288th Street, there was a report that an officer attempted a traffic stop after observing a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle failed to obey and fled from the officer. The driver was later positively identified as the registered owner of the vehicle through his Department of Licensing photo.

April 3

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Egg throwing: At 9:23 p.m. in the 1900 block of South 314th Street, there was a report that a customer at Walmart had an egg thrown at their car. Upon further investigation, Walmart security was able to obtain security footage of the incident. The video shows a suspect wearing a tan jacket and black backpack who throws an egg from across the parking lot. No suspects located.

Driver found with drugs: At 12:35 a.m. in the 2700 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that officers observed a suspiciously parked vehicle. Upon contact with the driver, officers observed a white powder in the driver’s lap and blue pills in a small bag in the center console. Officers detained the driver without issue for knowingly possessing a controlled substance. Officers identified the driver and placed him under arrest. The driver was issued a citation, drugs were confiscated and the driver was released.

Thrown bottle: At 12:44 a.m. in the 35000 block of Enchanted Parkway South, there was a report that a restaurant manager said that an unknown male threw a liquor bottle at him. The bottle struck the manager in the back of the head and as a result, the manager received a laceration that bled excessively. There was no video or witness to the incident. The case will be inactive pending new leads.

$5,00o in product lost: At 8:40 p.m. in the 100 block of Southwest Campus Drive, a victim reported that an unknown suspect broke the lock to their unattached garage and stole clothing and expensive purses with an approximate value of $5,000.

April 5

There was one vehicle theft reported, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

Knife attack: At 11:15 a.m. in the 32000 block of Weyerhaeuser Way South, there was a report of a knife assault. Upon arrival, officers began providing aid to the victim while incoming officers checked the area for the suspect. Officers were able to locate the suspect and detain him. A field show-up was conducted, and the suspect was identified. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail.

April 6

There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Fake name: At midnight in the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that a traffic stop was initiated, and the driver failed to identify himself properly, and he was arrested. It was found that the driver provided a fake name.

DUI and weapons: At 12:53 a.m. in the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that officers responded to a reported threat with a weapon. Through investigation, probable cause was developed for driving under the influence and aiming or discharging firearms at another.

Knife brandished at truck stop: At 4:23 p.m. in the 33000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report of a threat with a knife at Ernie’s Truck Stop. The caller reported that a previously trespassed male had brandished a knife during an argument regarding the trespass order. The male suspect was located and detained without incident. The employee who was contacted said he did not wish to pursue the issue as long as the suspect no longer came onto store property. The suspect was issued a formal trespass.

Pump still attached: At 8:12 p.m. in the 32000 block of Military Road South, there was a report of a damaged gas pump. Officers spoke to the owner, who stated that someone had driven away from the gas pump with the pump still in the vehicle. The owner of the store said the driver of the vehicle did not return after the pump broke. The store did not capture the license plate on the video cameras.

April 7

There was one vehicle theft reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Person passed out in vehicle: At 3:02 a.m. in the 32000 block of 11th Place South, there was a report that a driver was located passed out in a running vehicle. The vehicle was primarily in the roadway, but blocking a driveway. The driver had drug paraphernalia and apparent drugs clearly visible in the vehicle. The driver initially struggled, but a tire was flattened, and the driver was detained without further incident on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Student found with marijuana: At 1:59 p.m. at a Federal Way high school, there was a report that a student was found by the administration in possession of two nearly empty cannabis cartridges and buds. The property was seized for destruction. An officer had a long talk with the student regarding brain development and drugs. The student was cooperative and was advised he’d be referred to a counselor. The school would address discipline.

Card skimmer found: At 9:33 p.m. in the 28000 block of Military Road South, there was a report of a card skimmer at a grocery store. Two card skimmers were recovered. No suspect information.

April 8

There was one vehicle theft reported, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

Overcharge on EBT: At 4:58 p.m. in the 28000 block of Military Road South, there was a report from a victim that she had made a purchase at Valley Harvest with her EBT card, and she was notified that $692 was taken out of her account without her permission. The victim notified Valley Harvest, who said that they were aware of the issue and claimed that they were working on it on their end. DSHS was notified. No suspects.

Juveniles flee from stolen van: At 7:18 p.m. in the 2400 block of South 272nd Street, there was a report that a suspicious vehicle mildly collided into an unoccupied parked van and then multiple juveniles ran from the vehicle. The vehicle was found to be stolen. No suspects.
