Intoxicated man stiffs cab driver, then gets involuntarily committed

• At approximately 1 a.m. June 9 at 31622 Pacific Highway S., it was reported that a suspect took a cab to his destination and told the driver he would return to pay the fare. When he never returned, police came to check on the man. He was intoxicated and said he would not pay the cab fare and would rather go to jail. While in jail he threatened to harm himself and was involuntarily committed.

• At 2:32 p.m. June 10, a woman reported that her front driver’s side car window was broken while driving by Illahee Middle School. She said she saw children playing outside but did not believe the incident was on purpose. The damage to the window was reported as $25.

• At 4:54 p.m. June 10 at 3001 S. 288th St., a victim reported that her husband threatened to kill her and her daughter. Police took the suspect into custody.

• At 9:14 p.m. June 10 at 1300 S.W. Campus Drive, a woman reported that she and her fiance were in a verbal argument over her fiance’s eating habits.

• At 10:18 a.m. June 9 at 31224 20th Ave S., police performed a welfare check on the home’s residents. The residence was unsanitary and piles of garbage and cat feces were found. A one-year-old child was present and Child Protective Services was informed.

• At 9:28 a.m. June 9 at 32300 1st Ave. S., police were sent to investigate a sex offense report at a nursing home. A witness stated that one resident attempted to have sexual relations with another resident.

• At 2:55 p.m. June 9 in the 33000 block of 42nd Avenue South, $3,975 worth of goods was reported stolen from the residence. Most of the items taken were electronics.

• At 9:44 p.m. June 9 at S. 304th St., a victim was assaulted by two white males after a third white male came to the victim’s door and requested the victim step outside. There the victim was assaulted. All three men left in a tan compact car. The victim reported not knowing the men or why the attack occurred. There are no witnesses or suspects in this case.

• At 9 p.m. June 9 at 30221 26th Place S., officers responded to a domestic violence call. They discovered a male assaulted a female by strangulation in front of a 15-year-old child.

• At approximately 1 a.m. June 8 at 2800 S.W. 320th St., a 17-year-old was found in possession of five unopened bottles of beer in the front seat of the suspect’s vehicle.

• On June 8 at 33711 37th Place S.W., a female victim reported receiving harassing voice and text phone messages from another female, who lives out of state. The victim did not wish to press charges, but wanted documentation of the events. An officer spoke with the suspect, who agreed to cease contact with the victim.
