Woman gets scary text messages: At 5:29 p.m., May 31 in the 2000 block of South 284th Place, a woman called police after receiving three text messages from an unknown phone number. The woman was told by her private investigator that no owner information was available because the number came from a pre-paid phone. After ignoring the first message, the mysterious sender sent the second one to the woman’s husband’s employer, and the third one indicated that she and her family would be killed if nothing happened. She told police she did not know anyone who would send threatening messages to her. Because there was no suspect information available, police could not conduct an investigation.
Quite the strange combo: At 8:40 a.m., May 31 in the 28000 block of 27th Avenue South, police were dispatched to investigate ammunition that was located in the middle of the roadway. The ammunition and two Canadian dollars were found in the street and were submitted to evidence for disposal. Officers found no evidence of an active shooting.
Love triangle gets physical: At 10:55 p.m., May 30 in the 1000 block of South 320th Street, officers responded after two men got into a fist fight. The two men started fighting after learning they were both dating the same woman, and both referred to her as their girlfriend. Neither male was hurt, and they both went their separate ways without further issues once police arrived. An on-site security officer was first on scene and broke up the fight, and he said he was going to write up an incident report and forward it to property management.
Recent gun violence used as a prank call?: At 3:17 p.m., May 30 in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, police responded to the address for reports of an active shooting. The caller indicated there were several subjects actively shooting at one another but hung up after claiming their battery was dying. Law enforcement received just one call regarding the incident. After contacting several people within the complex, residents said they never saw or heard gun shots. Officers made several attempts to contact the original caller, but they could not be reached. Police confirmed there were no victims and no evidence of a shooting.
Probably not a good place to work: At 10:26 a.m. May 29 in the 800 block of Southwest 346th Street, a woman contacted police after a strange exchange days prior. The woman told officers she applied to work at a restaurant. A short time later she received a text from one of the managers that read “Hi Jammie.” At the time, the victim did not recognize the phone number, so she deleted the text. She told police she heard a soft knocking on the front window of her house a few seconds later. After looking outside, she received a text from the same number saying “By Jammie.” When the woman attempted to contact the restaurant, she was advised they don’t contact applicants late in the evening. Police attempted contact the manager but were unable to make contact.
Police lose suspect during pursuit: At 1:04 a.m. May 29 in the 30000 block of Fifth Avenue South, police attempted to make contact with a suspect with a felony warrant whom they found sleeping in a vehicle. The suspect fled, and officers pursued the car but lost sight of it during the chase.
An unwanted neighbor: At 4:21 p.m. May 28 in the 2000 block of South 336th Street, officers responded after a caller stated there were people sleeping in a white sedan across from their apartment who didn’t live there. Police discovered them sleeping and discovered heroin on the passenger’s lap. The other officer on scene found the driver had a bong on her lap. Both suspects were booked into SCORE jail.
When roommates can’t get along: At 2:45 p.m. May 28 in the 35000 block of 16th Avenue South, police responded to a physical assault. When officers arrived, they placed the suspect into custody after the victim said the suspect assaulted him with punches to the head and face. The suspect was booked into SCORE jail for Assault 4.
Duo is finally caught: At 4:31 p.m. May 27 at The Commons mall, Federal Way police ended a case where officers have been working to catch a duo who had stolen upwards of $10,000-worth of merchandise from Macy’s. Officers finally caught them after the two were attempting a “grab-and-run” shoplift. Both were booked on misdemeanor warrants, and police are working on pursuing felony charges.
Neighbors make disturbing discovery: At 4 p.m. May 27 in the 32000 block of 40th Avenue Southwest, neighbors called police after finding a man hanging from the neck. The neighbors attempted to initiate CPR but were unsuccessful. Investigators determined it was a suicide, and no foul play was involved.
Unwanted company: At 11:48 a.m. May 26 in the 2000 block of South 320th Street, a woman told police she was approached by an unknown cross-dressing man who attempted to strike up a conversation with her, which made her feel uncomfortable. The man was described as a white male in his 40 to 50s, wearing a short red-colored wig, purple leotard and pink lipstick. He said his name was “Josh” and had a black pickup truck. The woman was advised of security and safety measures to take for herself and to contact authorities if she encountered this man again.
In-egg-cusable behavior: At 8:09 a.m. May 26 in the 28000 block of 25th Place, a victim reported someone threw eggs and other food items at her windows. The victim believed the suspect was the father of her child. The victim said the two have been involved in disputes in the past but never saw him throw the eggs and food at her windows. Police attempted to contact the man but did not have success in reaching him.
Innocent man punched in the face: At 4:57 p.m., May 25 in the 30000 block of First Place South, while picking up yard waste, a victim, a waste management employee, was punched once in the face by unknown male whom the victim believed to live nearby. Officers were unable to locate a possible suspect.
Not your house: At 12:50 p.m. May 25 in the 800 block of South Dash Point Road, a victim contacted police after an unknown suspect entered his house by breaking through a window. The suspect then stole four security lights and a box of plumbing fittings.
This is not Tokyo Drift, young man: At 12:10 a.m. on May 25 in the 1000 block of South 320th Street, officers were flagged down by a man who said he saw an older, silver, two-door Acura Integra racing up and down 320th. The man told police the vehicle turned into the parking lot and the man yelled at the driver to slow down. The driver told the man he was only 17 and called him a racist. The man said the teenage driver stated, “I’m going to get my gun” and left the area. The driver was described as a black male with an afro-style haircut. At the time of the report, the driver of the Acura had not returned.
