Inappropriate touching reported at day care | Federal Way crime blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

• Inappropriate touching: At 11:27 a.m. Sept. 1 in the 28000 block of 26th Avenue South, a 4-year-old disclosed inappropriate touching by adults at the Creative Minds day care facility.

• Unauthorized vendor: At 3:17 p.m. Aug. 31 at 1928 S. Commons, it was reported that a person was selling candy in the mall. The person did not have a permit or permission to sell the items.

• Missing prescriptions: At 10:53 a.m. Aug. 31 in the 1400 block of South 308th Street, a resident returned home to find his or her prescription medicine and a jewelry box stolen.

• Gangs claim same location: At 10:52 a.m. Aug. 31 in the 33600 block of 10th Avenue Southwest, an officer observed fresh gang graffiti near Saghalie Middle School. Previous tags in the area have been left by another gang. That group appears to have painted over the newer marks.

• Rock damage: At 1:27 a.m. Aug. 31 in the 34700 block of 30th Avenue Southwest, a victim reported seeing a suspect throw a rock through the victim’s vehicle’s back windshield before running off screaming.

• Sexual assault: At 10:19 p.m. Aug. 13 in the 27900 block of Pacific Highway South, a youth reported her stepfather fondled her breast.

• Passed out: At 8:07 a.m. Sept. 1 at 115 Mirror Lake Park, police responded for a welfare check. A suspect was found slumped over his or her steering wheel. Drug paraphernalia was found.

• Credit card fraud: At 3:43 p.m. Sept. 2 at 1928 S. Commons, a Sbarro’s manager reported possible credit card fraud. Someone attempted to place a $2,000 order via the phone using the TTY service designed for the deaf. TTY customer service reported several complaints of criminals using the system to place orders using possibly stolen credit cards.

• Aggressive begging: At 2:02 p.m. Sept. 2 at 34800 Enchanted Parkway South, a person was arrested for holding a cardboard sign, which requested money, toward traffic.

• Gooey mess: At 4:37 p.m. Sept. 2 in the 36500 block of 1st Place Southwest, a home was egged.
