Wearing a red San Francisco 49ers hat and jacket, Federal Way Prosecuting Attorney Stephanie Arthur lost to the booing crowd as she ran in jest past a flock of Seahawks fans in front of City Hall on Friday.
The 49ers fanatic seemed to be the lone fan wearing red amidst hundreds of Seahawks fans wearing blue and green, who rallied to show support for the team in their NFC Conference championship game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
But Federal Way Mayor Jim Ferrell turned the crowd quickly as he yelled, “Let’s do this every Friday.”
Former Seahawks wide receiver Paul Johns rallied the fans during the event, while Ferrell issued a proclamation, declaring Jan. 17 as Blue Friday in Federal Way.
The Decatur High School pep band and Todd Beamer High School drum line and jazz band also entertained the crowd leading up to the raising of the 12th man flag over City Hall.
Most fans also received a free bag of Skittles – a favorite football treat of Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch.
