The city and SustainableWorks are again partnering to offer a total of $222,667 to help residents with energy audits, weatherization and energy-saving retrofitting their homes. The program is open to all single-family residences within city limits.

An energy pre-audit to determine eligibility is the first step in the process. A professional energy audit follows. This cost $95. Residents earning less than 80 percent of the King County median income qualify for a free audit. An energy consultant will then list the retrofits needed, the cost to complete the retrofits and the energy savings that will result from them.

SustainableWorks is offering residents discounts to cover up to 10 percent of the total project cost (with a maximum of $500 per resident). Up to 20 percent, not to exceed $1,000, of the total project cost is available to low-income residents.
