July 8

There was one vehicle theft, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

Transient man attacks security: At about 6 a.m. in the 31000 block of Pete von Reichbauer Way S., officers responded to a report of a transient male assaulting a security guard. Probable cause was found for Assault 4, and the transient male was arrested.

Mischievous teenagers: At about 9 a.m. in the 1200 block of SW 327th Place, a sunroof was reported damaged by a rock, and in the same lot, cat litter was poured on another car’s windshield. Witnesses reported seeing teenagers roaming around the area. Canvassing was done to locate suspects, but no suspects were found.

Church window broken: At about 3 p.m. on S. 312th Street, a church reported that a window was broken about a half hour earlier. The reporting party said security footage showed a transient male who had previously damaged the property hanging out at the church door. The reporting party said he was unsure if he wanted to press charges and would have to talk with other church members before making a decision.

Assault: At about 3:15 p.m. in the 33000 block of 13th Place South, an employee from this location told 911 that an assault had occurred, but neither party wanted to press charges. The reporting party self-treated minor injuries and only wanted to report the incident for information only.

Parked hit-and-run: At about 4:30 p.m. near 1100 SW 338th Street, someone reported hearing vehicle collision noises. Then, they saw their car with about $1,000 of damage. The reporting party found a parked van nearby with the same scrape damage.

Stolen guns: At about 5 p.m. in the 29000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., an individual reported that his storage unit was broken into and four guns were stolen.

Armed robbery: At about 8 p.m. in the 35000 block of Enchanted Pkwy. S., officers investigated a strong-arm robbery that occurred in a parking lot.

15 shopping carts stolen: At about 10:15 p.m. in the 28000 block of Military Road S., an employee reported that an unknown male was stealing 10 to 15 shopping carts. The male loaded the carts into a green pickup truck and then fled.

July 9

There was one vehicle theft, and four vehicles were recovered on this day.

Stolen gaming computer: At about 7:40 a.m. in the 3300 block of SW 23rd Street, a person reported that his gaming computer was missing, and he thought it might have been his roommate. He said there was no forced entry, and he had been gone for over three weeks.

Ceiling burglary: At about 8:30 a.m. in the 33000 block of 21st Avenue SW, someone reported that several months ago, she noticed damage to the ceiling of her unit. She later discovered that items were stolen, and her items were moved around. The victim believed someone must have entered through the ceiling and stolen the listed items.

July 10

There was one vehicle theft, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Public sexual acts: At about 9:45 a.m. in the 1100 block of SW Dash Point Road, a male was naked with his pants down to his ankles, laying in the grass, doing a sexual act by himself. The man was confused as to why police were apprehending him, but he acknowledged that his behavior was not normal. The man complied, but was confused, and he was unsure if he took drugs. The man was naked at a school park where children are known to be. The man appeared unable to walk or take care of himself. He was involuntarily committed.

Man using drugs fled: At about 5 p.m., a man was observed consuming illegal street narcotics in public. A detective attempted to arrest the man, but he fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, the man was apprehended, suffering a small abrasion to his right elbow. He was booked into jail for obstruction and for a violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act.

Child brings gun to daycare: At about 5:20 p.m. in the 31000 block of 9th Avenue South, officers responded to a call of a firearm found in a child’s backpack at daycare. The daycare employees went to retrieve some items from the backpack and found a loaded firearm. Officers took the firearm, and a Child Protective Services referral followed.

Nike Dunk theft: At about 9:40 p.m., officers received a call from a victim who stated that at about 9:30 p.m., they were selling a pair of Nike Polar Dunks, and the suspect took the shoes from his sister and left in a vehicle.

July 11

There was one vehicle theft, and three vehicles were recovered on this day.

Door handle jiggler: At about 2:45 p.m. at The Commons Mall, a man was apprehended for a possible car prowl after he was seen looking at several unattended parked vehicles and trying door handles. No vehicle was broken into, but the man was arrested for a warrant and booked into King County Jail.

Hide and go steal: At about 1 p.m., officers were dispatched to Home Depot regarding an overnight burglary. The loss prevention manager said an unknown male hid in the shelves overnight and then exited with electric tools.

Taking care of business: At about 6 p.m. in the 1200 block of S. 320th Street, a man told police that he was walking on a crosswalk, and then a man in a white company truck cut off him and his daughter, so he threw his hands up in the air. The reporting party then said the man in the company truck pointed a Glock handgun at him. Officers asked the reporting party if he wanted to participate in a police procedure, but he refused and said he would handle the situation himself. The reporting party refused to give his name or any other information.

Gun pointing while driving: At about 7:30 p.m. on 1st Way and SW 330th St., a man was driving in a silver Honda Accord and then flashed a gun at the reporting party through his rearview mirror. Officers were unable to locate a suspect.

July 12

There were two vehicle thefts, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Accidental arrest: At about 8 a.m. in the 34000 block of 21st Ave. SW, officers responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was a Toyota Solara with two people sleeping inside. Officers woke up the occupants, and both of them provided their licenses and names. Dispatch returned information to officers, saying the vehicle had been stolen. The two occupants were subsequently detained. Shortly after, dispatch told officers to disregard the stolen vehicle information, saying it was provided to the wrong call. The occupants were released from handcuffs and provided an FWPD business card and case number.

Red Robin burglary: At about 8:13 a.m., there was a report that Red Robin had been burglarized overnight. There was no suspect information or CCTV footage at the time.

Honey Bucket blow-up: At about 2:45 p.m., officers were informed of a destroyed Honey Bucket on Decatur High School property. The custodian discovered a large used excrement-covered explosive inside the remnants. The explosive was large enough to blow the roof off of the Honey Bucket over a fence and onto the baseball field. The Honey Bucket was no longer usable and was valued at about $400. The school district would like to pursue charges.

Shoplifters caught with a gun: At about 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a shoplift at Winco. Two brothers were shoplifting chips and drinks, and they were subsequently patted down, and a gun was found in one of their front pockets. The suspect with the gun was found to be a three-time convicted felon and had a robbery warrant. He was booked into jail.

Gun left on the toilet: At about 9 p.m. in the 34000 block of Enchanted Pkwy. S., a store employee located a Glock 19 9mm in the restroom. Officers responded and contacted the owner of the firearm. The owner said he forgot it while he was using the bathroom. The firearm was booked into evidence for safekeeping, and the owner was issued a case number.

July 13

There were three vehicle thefts, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Neighbors fight: At about 5:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of South 282nd Place, officers respond to a report of two female neighbors accusing each other of having assaulted them. Both had minor injuries. There was no domestic relationship. Unable to find an aggressor, no one was arrested, but the case was forwarded to Federal Way prosecutors for review.

There were zero vehicle thefts, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

Stolen vehicle found, pursuit ensued: At about 9 a.m. in the 34000 block of 8th Place SW, officers located a suspicious vehicle that returned stolen. The occupant then fled on foot. He was ultimately apprehended.

Car prowler caught: At about 11:40 a.m. in the 35000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., officers responded to a call from someone reporting that a male was rummaging through his vehicle. Officers detained the male who fit the description, and the vehicle owner positively identified him.

Woman run over: At about 3:25 p.m. in the 33000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., officers responded to a fight with weapons. Officers were advised that there was a female being assaulted, who was pulled from a vehicle and run over. Officers found the female victim lying unresponsive in the parking lot. The suspects fled in two vehicles. The woman had possible major injuries and multiple broken bones. Probable cause was established for felony hit and run. One suspect was found, arrested, and booked into King County Jail.

July 16

There was one vehicle theft, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

Care home assault: At about 12:30 p.m. in the 33000 block of 40th Ct. SW, the reporting party reported a fellow resident assaulted her at a care home.

Supposed 50 juveniles fight: At about 7:45 p.m. in the 2400 block of S. 312th Street, officers were dispatched to a report of 50 juveniles involved in a fight at a park, possibly with weapons. Police responded with priority and did not observe the fight. It was later discovered that three female juveniles were threatened by three juvenile males in the women’s bathroom. The males were said to have knives, but the reporting females could not describe them. No suspect information was available other than that one was a short mixed-race male, approximately 12 years old, with the nickname “Baby Trouble,” who lives in Kent. Case inactive.
