The Association of King County Historical Organizations named the Historical Society of Federal Way as the recipient of the 2017 Exhibit Award for Jackson Street After Hours.
The exhibit featured a number of local “before they were famous” notables. Among the luminaries featured were Bumps Blackwell, Ernestine Anderson, Quincy Jones, Jimi Hendrix and R.C. Robinson, a keyboard player from Tampa, later known as Ray Charles.
The presentation will take place at the AKCHO Awards Ceremony Tuesday at the Northwest African American Museum.
