Candidates for two Federal Way City Council seats will face a primary election this August as three contenders filed to run for both Positions 3 and 7.

Rose O’Sharon (Sharry) Edwards and Lamont Styles will run against incumbent Susan Honda for Position 3.

For Position 7, Tony Pagliocco, Linda Kochmar and Katherine Festa will face off for the open seat to be vacated by council member Dini Duclos, who is not running for re-election.

The top two candidates from the aforesaid positions will move on to the general election in November.

The two candidates for Position 5 will also face off during the general election, including incumbent Mark Koppang and Jamila Taylor.

Council member Lydia Assefa-Dawson is running unopposed for Position 1.

King County Elections closed the five-day candidate filing period at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
