Guilty plea in 2008 slaying of Baerbel Roznowski

Chan Ok Kim, also known as Paul Kim, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

Kim is accused of slaying his girlfriend, Baerbel Roznowski, 66, in May 2008. Kim first pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in June 2008.

Kim and Roznowski dated for 16 years. He was served an anti-harassment order the morning Roznowski was killed. Chan left Roznowski’s home, but came back shortly thereafter. Police responded to the house, 2012 S.W. 353rd St., hours later to perform a welfare check when a friend of Kim’s reported the man was feeling suicidal.

Upon arrival, police saw Kim with a knife and forced entry into the house, where they found Roznowski dead of multiple stab wounds. Kim was taken to Harborview Medical Center for self-inflicted knife wounds.
