Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:
• Group assaults man and steals his phone: At 10:51 p.m. April 27 in the 31000 block of 1st Avenue South, a man was driving his car when a group of males threw an unidentified object at his car. According to the report, the man pulled over to confront the group. When he did so, a group of females came up and pepper-sprayed him, while the group of males used the opportunity to steal his phone from inside his car.
• Neighbors spar over weed-whacking: At 12:09 p.m. April 28 in the 29000 block of 18th Avenue South, police were called to a dispute between two neighbors. According to the report, one was upset with the other for weed-whacking. During their argument, that neighbor unplugged the other’s weed-whacker, causing the weed-whacker owner to call police.
• Youth mob uses house for party: At 4:47 p.m. April 28 in the 4900 block of SW 329th Way, it was reported that 40 to 50 youth had broken into an unattended house and thrown a party. The youth consumed large quantities of alcohol found in the house, and also stole two laptop computers.
• Car prowl: At 6:15 p.m. April 28 in the 1800 block of South 316th Street, unknown suspects broke into the victim’s car and stole an iPad and laptop computer.
• House burglarized: At 7:08 p.m. April 28, in the 500 block of SW 317th Place, unknown suspects broken into the victim’s house and stole a number of personal electronic items valued at approximately $3,200.
• Boyfriend slashes girlfriend’s tires: At 5:29 a.m. April 27 in the 2100 block of SW 317th Place, a boyfriend and girlfriend got into a heated argument over the boyfriend’s suspected cheating. According to the report, at some time during the argument, the boyfriend slashed the tires to the girlfriend’s car so she could not leave.
• Storm drain grate stolen: At 6:22 a.m. April 27 in the 1700 block of SW 356th Street, it was reported that unknown suspects had stolen the metal grate covering for a storm drain located in a city street.
• Work vehicle broken into: At 10:28 a.m. April 27 in the 32000 block of 46th Place SW, the victim’s work vehicle was broken into, and a digital camera was stolen from the vehicle. According to the report, entrance to the vehicle was gained by punching out the lock on the door.
• Car prowl: At 6:43 p.m. April 27 in the 2800 block of SW 320th Street, the victim’s vehicle was broken into by unknown suspects and approximately $3,400 in personal items were stolen.
• Illegal dumping: At 9:16 a.m. April 26 in the 2500 block of South 286th Street, the victim reported someone had illegally dumped trash in their dumpster. According to the report, the victim went through the trash and found pieces of mail identifying two people who lived at the same address. The report does not note if the two people were being viewed as possible suspects.
