Mirror staff reports:
Federal Way police responded to a call of a homemade bomb made with drain cleaner and a plastic bottle.
On the morning of Wednesday, May 29, a resident reported finding a suspicious plastic Coke bottle in the southeast corner of Alderbrook Park, 32730 17th Ave. SW.
The Coke bottle was resting in the grass, and was enlarged with liquid contents. Next to the Coke bottle was an empty container of drain cleaner, along with debris from a previous Coke bottle explosion, according to the police report.
The caller told police he heard explosions the night before, but did not call 911.
The police department’s bomb disposal unit arrived and detonated the Coke bottle. No suspects were found and the case was closed.
