Federal Way High School’s ex-volunteer basketball coach recently pleaded not guilty to third-degree child molestation and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.

Brianna Gayle Strong, 23, stood before Judge Cheryl Carey on June 16 at the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center as she denied the two counts.

A sexual assault protection order was also filed against Strong. She was released on her $70,000 bond the next day.

Strong was charged on June 11 and is alleged to have had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl, a student at Federal Way High School.

Strong was arrested on June 6 after she confessed to kissing, inappropriately touching and being touched and sending naked photos to the girl, who was a basketball player at the high school, court documents state.

The two started their relationship at the end of 2013, probable cause documents continue. The documents further state the two spoke about the difference in their ages and that they would have to wait to have a sexual relationship until the student was 16 years old.
