Dec. 20

There were at least 6 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 5 vehicles were recovered.

Fraud: A victim was scammed out of over $9,000 while trying to access help with immigration over the internet.

Flasher on BPA Trail: Officers responded to reports of a subject exposing himself to people as they passed by around 12:40 p.m. They were unable to locate the subject, although they did an area search around the area of the BPA Trail where the flasher was reported.

Vehicle theft deterred: A suspect attempted to steal a vehicle around 4:20 p.m. near the 34800 block of Enchanted Parkway South, but was unable to because it was equipped with a kill switch.

Dec. 21

There were at least 6 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 3 vehicles were recovered.

Safe stolen: A burglary sometime between 10 p.m. and 5:45 a.m. at a gas station near the 30400 block of Pacific Highway South resulted in a stolen safe.

Knife assault: Officers responded to the report of an assault with a knife around 8 a.m. near the 31600 block of Pete von Reichbauer Way South.

Employee assaults customers: At around 9:45 a.m., police responded to an assault in progress of a couple by an employee at a gas station located near the 1700 block of South 356th Street. The employee was gone upon police arrival.

Gas station robbery: Police responded to an armed robbery at approximately 1 p.m. at a gas station located at 4600 Southwest 320th Street.

Dec. 22

There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Vehicular homicide: Two pedestrians were killed at 11:30 a.m. when a vehicle hit them near South Star Lake Road and Military Road South.

Gas station damaged: At approximately 11 a.m. a suspect can be seen on video kicking in the glass front door of a gas station located near the 27200 block of Pacific Highway South.

Dec. 23

There were at least 8 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 2 vehicles were recovered.

Strong-arm robbery: At approximately 4:20 p.m., a victim was walking into a grocery store near the 1200 block of South 320th Street when two males in a white Kia asked for her help finding directions. After she approached them, one of them tried to take the victim’s purse, but failed and drove off, knocking the victim to the ground.

Unhoused man found dead: A man was found deceased in his tent at approximately 5:20 p.m. near the 32400 block of Pacific Highway South.

Shoplifting leads to arrest for possession: At approximately 6 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting near the 2400 block of South 320th Street and found to be in possession of illegal drugs. The suspect was booked into jail.

Dec. 24

There was at least 1 report of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 2 vehicles were recovered.

Mass car break-in: Officers responded to a call around midnight and found that seven vehicles had their windows broken near the 32100 block of 25th Avenue South.

Nonresidential burglary: At approximately 4:20 a.m., officers were dispatched to a commercial alarm and glass broken at a business located near the 1600 block of Southwest 312th Street. They discovered a wide open front door and various items missing upon arrival.

Dec. 25

There were at least 2 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 1 vehicle was recovered.

Asleep at the wheel: At approximately 4:20 p.m., a driver crashed into the fence of a condominium community near the 1000 block of South 312th Street after falling asleep at the wheel.

Weapons threats: Multiple callers reported a suspect threatening and pointing a gun around 10 p.m. at a bar located near the 2200 block of Southwest 356th Street. Officers contacted the subject who initially did not comply and effectively deployed less lethal strategies and took him into custody, according to police.

Dec. 26

There were at least 3 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 2 vehicles were recovered.

Super glue and feces: At approximately 1:30 a.m., an unknown suspect super glued all of a victim’s doors and left human waste near their front door of their home. CCTV shows the suspect was wearing all black and had a ski mask. The incident occurred near the 31800 block of Pacific Highway South.

Traffic stop of stolen car: Officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle that returned as stolen sometime between 3:30 p.m and 6:30 p.m. The suspect self-identified himself prior to hitting a police car and another motorist while fleeing. His passenger was detained and arrested on an unrelated warrant and drug possession.

Robbery at ATM: At approximately 6:15 p.m., a victim was robbed at gunpoint while attempting to deposit cash into an ATM. The suspect punched the victim in the face after forcing him to withdraw $500. A potential suspect matching the description was detained, but the victim did not positively identify him, and the suspect was released.

Bystander responds to DV: At approximately 8 p.m., a bystander overheard a verbal argument. The female victim asked the bystander to call police, and when they arrived, she disclosed that she had been punched multiple times in the face.
