Jan. 22

There were zero vehicle thefts, and three vehicles were recovered on this day.

Person flees Washington State Patrol: At about 12:30 a.m., there was a report of a requested priority assist from WSP. They had a subject who fled from them at gunpoint. The vehicle WSP was in pursuit of had entered the city and ended up in a collision by itself, ultimately resulting in a rollover. WSP took custody of the driver and completed the collision report. Federal Way Police Department did not have any involvement in the incident. Safe City footage was uploaded to the case for WSP.

Man screams at a child: At about 11:45 a.m., at a Federal Way elementary school, a school resource officer (SRO) spoke with an elementary school child who reported she had been sworn at by an adult man. The girl told the SRO that she was riding her scooter home yesterday when the driver of a U-Haul truck approached where she was, and she thought he was going to stop. The girl said her scooter almost touched the side of the U-Haul, and then the man got out, and was upset that she almost got hurt, and he began to kick her scooter and swear at her. The girl then thought the man was going to hurt her, so she tried to kick the man. Passengers in the U-Haul then told the man to knock it off because she was just a child. They then left. The girl stated she doesn’t think she will see them again, but she was surprised by the driver’s response. No crime. Guardians aware.

Employee steals more than $1,500: At about 4:10 p.m., in the 27000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., there was a report that loss prevention had identified an employee who admitted to stealing more than $1,500 from the store. The employee was arrested, trespassed and released at the scene.

There were three vehicle thefts, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Ex sells car: At about 3 p.m., in the 4000 block of SW 337th St., a man reported that his ex sold his vehicle to another known male, which he did not agree to. When he went to retrieve his car, the known male said that an unknown suspect had stolen the car.

Jan. 24

There was one vehicle theft, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Assault with a firearm: At about 3:05 p.m., on 23rd Ave. S., there was a report of a shooting between family members. One victim was shot, and one suspect was arrested.

Jan. 25

There were zero vehicle thefts, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Firearm found in donation bin: At about 4:15 p.m., in the 32000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., an employee called about a firearm found in a donation bin. The firearm was booked into evidence, and when the owner was advised, he said the firearm had been pawned off several years ago.

Jan. 26

There was one vehicle theft, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Burglary: At about 12:50 p.m., in the 800 block of S. 319th Pl., there was a report of a burglary. The reporting party said that several items were missing.

Possible rifle being shown: At about 4:20 p.m., in the 30000 block of 16th Ave. S., there was a report of people in a white Audi displaying what appeared to be a rifle to someone else. When officers arrived on the scene, the vehicle was gone.

Possible laced marijuana: At about 5:30 p.m., in the 32000 block of 26th Ave. SW, there was a report that a man had smoked marijuana, which was possibly laced, and it caused him to run in the roadway and almost get hit by a car. The man kept repeating the words, “I have a God complex,” and attempted to enter random residences. Once detained, he told officers to shoot him. He was involuntarily committed.

Jan. 27

There were two vehicle thefts, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Juveniles stealing from GameStop: At about 2:55 p.m., in the 34000 block of 16th Ave. S., officers responded to a report of masked juveniles fleeing GameStop with merchandise in a silver sedan. The GameStop manager reported a shoplift of two PlayStation products valued at $550. No assault occurred and no weapons were seen.

Assault: At about 4:20, in the 100 block of S. 331st Pl., officers responded to an assault. A male resident was assaulted by a former neighbor in the parking lot. The male suspect and the victim were exchanging words, and when the suspect didn’t like what he was told, he assaulted the victim.

Possible illegal discharge: At about 9:30, on SW 320th St., a caller reported that they had heard a possible illegal discharge. A witness stated that they heard possibly two gunshots, and then four to five juveniles ran away from the scene and left in a white sedan or coupe. An area check was conducted, but no fired cartridges or damage was located.

Jan. 28

There were four vehicle thefts, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Shoplifter with firearm: At about 7:25 p.m., on the 34000 block of 16th Ave. S., there was a report that loss prevention had detained a woman who was shoplifting. They found a gun on her and notified police. Police gave her a citation for carrying a gun with no concealed carry permit, and it was confiscated.
