Fifteen teachers, including one in Federal Way, will soon have new supplies for their classrooms now that their projects are fully funded.

Teresa Bateman is the librarian at Brigadoon Elementary in Federal Way. In her project request, she asked for animal books because her boy readers, especially, like those and even more so if they are scary.

“They want to flip through the pages and show the pictures to friends. They want to learn cool facts and tell the nearest adult,” Bateman said. “Unfortunately, our easy nonfiction books are very limited and getting rather tattered from overuse. Students want more, more, more. These 22 books like ‘Moose,’ ‘Frogs,’ and ‘Camels,’ with their large formats, big pictures, and easy text, are perfect.”
