Federal Way’s Advancing Leadership program is now accepting applications for the 2014-15 class. People living, working and/or volunteering in the Federal Way area are eligible to apply. Applications are due Thursday, May 22.

Advancing Leadership (AL) is an intensive, award-winning leadership development program founded by the Federal Way Chamber of Commerce and its partners in 1998.

The program is designed to help participants enhance their personal and professional leadership skills, deepen their understanding of community assets and issues and expand their network of relationships with other leaders in the city, county and state. More than 450 local men and women have completed the program.

In addition to leadership training, team building, field trips throughout the community and working with hundreds of leaders in government, business, education, healthcare, nonprofits and service clubs, participants choose a team project they design and implement to benefit Federal Way.
