Life Care Centers of America recently honored Cindy Matthews, director of clinical services for its Northwest Division, with its company-wide Division Support Award. Matthews works in the company’s Federal Way office.

She was honored during Life Care’s annual meeting at its corporate headquarters in Cleveland, Tenn. She was praised for her extensive clinical knowledge and willingness to serve hands-on when she is doing her rounds in facilities.

“Few people have the ability to balance organizational goals, resident outcomes and family and staff satisfaction with the grace that Cindy models (much less in multiple facilities and regions),” said Raymond Thompson, division vice president.

Thanks in great part to Matthews’s leadership, the Northwest Division has the highest quality ratings from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in the company. Twenty-nine of its facilities have a four- or five-star rating from CMS.

The Northwest Division oversees 31 skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Utah. The division office is located at 33528 6th Ave. S., in Federal Way.
