A Federal Way teen was convicted Feb. 3 of first-degree murder and attempted murder in connection with a December 2008 drug deal at Alderdale park, near Southwest 340th Place and 26th Avenue Southwest.
The 16-year-old, who is not being named by The Mirror because he is a juvenile, and Domanique Moore, now 18, of Covington, set up a marijuana drug deal at the park. They went to the park with plans to rob known acquaintances and drug dealers Steven Jackson, 20, of Kent, and Robert Taylor, also now 18 of Federal Way, according to charging documents. Moore and his younger accomplice brought handguns to assist them in their mission. The younger teen supplied the weapons, according to charging documents.
The robbery did not go as planned. Jackson was fatally shot and Taylor was wounded.
Moore pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and second-degree assault in November and was recently sentenced to more than 30 years in prison. A sentencing judge will determine the 16-year-old’s punishment next month.
