Every third-grader in the district has a brand new dictionary, thanks to the generosity of the Federal Way Service Club Network. More than 1,700 dictionaries were passed out this year as part of the Dictionary Project, which is in its ninth year.

Federal Way Service Club Network includes the Rotary, AM Kiwanis, Noon Kiwanis, Lions, Greater Federation of Women’s Clubs, Masonic Lodge, Jobs Daughters, McMillan Grange, Steel Lake Highline Grange and the Des Moines Rotary.

Since the beginning of the project in 2006-2007, more than 15,000 third-graders in the Federal Way School District have been given dictionaries. The goal of the project is to assist all students in becoming good writers, active readers, creative thinkers and resourceful learners.
