Three separate shootings victims were found in Federal Way on Saturday, Dec. 12, but police do not have any suspect information for any of the incidents.
Morning
At about 2:30 a.m., Federal Way police officers responded to a reported shooting at the Comfort Inn near the 31600 block of Pacific Highway South, said Cmdr. Kurt Schwan of Federal Way police.
Six or seven juvenile males are believed to have been partying in a hotel room when they went outside and contacted subjects in a vehicle in the parking lot, Schwan said. An altercation in the parking lot resulted in the shooting.
A 17-year-old boy from Olympia sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the upper leg and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition, Schwan said.
The involved subjects provided vague information to police and refused to provide statements. Schwan said there is no suspect information available.
Afternoon
At about 3:45 p.m., Federal Way police officers responded to a reported shooting at an apartment complex in the 35700 block of 16th Avenue South.
Upon arrival, police discovered all of the involved parties (suspects and victim) had left the scene in separate vehicles. The circumstances that led up to the shooting are still unclear, Schwan said.
Shortly after, an 18-year-old man with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg arrived at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma. Schwan said the victim and witnesses have not cooperated with the investigation. While there is no suspect information, detectives processed the scene for evidence and continue to investigate the incident.
Night
At about 9:30 p.m., Federal Way police officers responded to a report of a shooting victim near the 30100 block of 16th Avenue South. Officers located a 33-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the back, Schwan said.
A female companion who was found with the victim told police the shooting occurred in an unincorporated area of King County, outside the city limits of Federal Way, Schwan said. The woman said they were going to the hospital when they were dropped off on 16th Avenue S. The 33-year-old woman was transported to Harborview in stable condition.
Officers were unable to locate the site of the actual shooting, Schwan said. Both the victim and companion were uncooperative with police and refused to provide additional information. Police have no suspect information.
